I know, it's early, but I really need to budget this year.

I saw this science kit thing at Michael's with an ant colony. I want to get that for Ethan. Not sure if I'll get the same for Noah or something similiar.

Was going to do flip flops but we got those before the trip.

Some candy, of course, but I try not to go too overboard, which is why I need other ideas.

We have way too many things of bubbles and chalk.

Also, can not remember what we did for Ethan when he was little. No clue for Eli.

What are you all doing for baskets?

I think we will do what we did last year, a beach towel, goggles, sunglasses maybe some small water toys. We try and get things they need anyway. I do not like to go overboard either. We also recycle the halloween candy into the easter eggs. lol.

I am hugely down-sizing the Easter baskets.

Tristen will get a wooden train I picked up at Christmas.

Koda will get some army men to add to his collection.

Both will get some of the very inexpensive outdoor toys- chalk, etc.

Probably one chocolate bar each.

We will put coins in the easter eggs this year that they look for.  We used to put hotwheels, but we have a million now.  They are all about saving for a toy at Disney anyhow, so they would prefer coins.

I do very little candy. They get it from their grandparents, etc.

I plan to do the normal sunglasses, flip flops, this year I think a bathing suit rolled up. Then I will pick something fun each will like to play with. That is it.

Good ideas!

We have goggles but we do need more beach towels. Maybe each will get one of those plus a water toy. And we can use a few more cheap outdoor toys.

my kids are pretty much the same every year--basically a "getting ready for nice weather" mix. typical things we have included are...

sunglasses, sun hat, bathing suits, beach towel, bubbles, chalk (i know you said you don't need those, but we always run out, then we usually get them each a battery operated bubble blower (i think they are called bubble bellies) b/c they love them and they are always broken by the end of the season, giant playballs (i bet eli would love that), sand buckets, butterfly net, fishing rods, a new bike accessory like streamers or a horn, this year my kids are getting hockey sticks b/c they love using my nephews street hockey stuff, kites, kid gardening gloves, hula hoop, outside toy like bocce set or badminton, kid sized lawn chairs, etc. when the kids were younger and didn't use these kinds of things we got them a water table one year. i also try to use something more "useful" then a basket as the basket, like a little wagon or a kid sized wheelbarrow...even the back of an oversized kids dump truck for outside.

i love easter baskets.:)

Corey, you should start a business doing this stuff. for reals. We got Eli a water table for his bday last year and the older boys use it too. But the rest of the stuff is great!

 ooohhh,lol. I should read, lol.

I like the wheel barrow thing. I wonder where I can get one for the girls. I think they would like that and do kind of a gardening theme.

Corey, do you do one for each kid (wheelbarrow, wagon, etc)? Or do they share?

If you want a wheel barrel that will hold up, don't get the cheap little plastic ones.  I know farm stores like Farm and Fleet or Rurual King often sell metal ones.  I am pretty sure Radio Flyer makes one. Ooh, let's talk about these baskets some more. I went E.B. shopping the other day.

I got candy, Hot Wheels cars, bubbles, some soft bug masks, packets of seeds, ping pong balls, bouncy balls, and books. I might get a dvd for each of them as well--"The Muppets" and . . . something else. There might be more stuff in the E.B. bag but I can't look right now. Oh, I remember--I got them each a Webkinz (a walrus and a shark) since it's tradition that they always get something stuffed in their baskets.
