Mark LOVES his r/c robot so much. He's been taking it with us when we go places. Mark also got the Wall Tracks--matchbox car track that attaches to the wall, and he loves that too.
Glen, Henry, and Mark all got r/c helicopters, and they're still playing with them all the time.
Henry plays his ipod touch pretty often, and he is constantly watching his "Boy Meets World" dvds. Oh, and he started reading his Wimpy Kid books immediately--more than once.
I got a lot of new baking stuff so I haven't even tried most of it. My mom got me a down throw blanket that is so warm and snuggly; I'm always wrapped up in that. My kids were fighting over it the other day.
No duds that I can see so far. Gavin is weird because he will get stuff that he likes to put together and keep on his book case but not necessarily play with. Yet he still says they are his favorite. :dunno: Anyway, they are playing with pretty much everything.
Big hits: their Build a bear gifts to each other - Owen got a happy feet one and gavin got a plain one with a power ranger outfit. They love those. They also got a pirates of the caribbean ship that they love and (another!) batcave. This one is kept at my mom's house though and is different than the one owen got last year. They love having it over there to play with.
Honestly, they love all the stuff they got and we tried really hard to make it a variety and not get "stuff" just so they have tons to open.
The big hit was the gigantic wood doll houses they got from my mil. They love all their calico critter stuff Allie loves her new alarm clock that projects on to wall They really love the moon in your room
The only thing we have not used and they do no even seem to care is the easy bake oven. It is still in the box.
Joe's faves this year were his ipod touch and his big matchbox airplane.
Bel's favourite seems to be the Bop It that I got for me, she is always playing it and loves the pass it mode cause we play it together. Although she gushed over her Barbie and Strawberyy Shortcake stuff she hasn't really played so much with it.
On wednesday we ran out of room in our recycle bin so I went and got the new baby's car seat out of the box, so we could start fillling that box up instead, but Joe persuaded me to let him keep it. I swear that box has been played with SOOOO much, it has been fought over, it's been a den, plane, house, zoo cage, etc. They LOVE it!!
My kids loved everything. They got a great mix of stuff so there is so much to do! They both love all the new playdoh and playsets something about fresh playdoh lol. Hannah loves her 3DS from her nanny and bamps and really all her stuff she has loved playing all day long on winter break. One of B's favorite things is a black and decker dump truck that he can take apart and put back together he looooooves taking stuff apart... he does it all day long and takes apart things he shouldn't so it was a good gift lol.
I was spoiled this year :) Kent surprised me completely with a laptop. I signed up for some classes and it was just a super thoughtful gift I love it. I have never had a laptop before. His parents got me a nook tablet and I am in love with it too! I'm reading books and magazines and surfing the net and it does all kinds of fun things. He also got me a cozy couch blanket, it's really warm. I asked for one because Bryson is a very early bird and I end up on the couch while he watches cartoons in the early mornings and i'm always freezing another sweet thoughtful gift :)

They really love a lot of their stocking stuff.
so funny but we still haven't opened the easy bake oven from last Christmas! I keep meaning to get it out and set up, but I always put it off. It seems like alot of work. at the rate we're going, she'll be in highschool playing with an easy bake oven ;)

how fun, amber!! I am so excited for you. are you taking specific classes or just general ones?
We went light on gifts this year because we had that Florida trip a month ago, and are buying a house. :) But the kids love their stuffed animals (which I was very hesitant about adding MORE stuffed animals to our house, but they really wanted) - Donald and Daisy Duck, Fozzie Bear for Pea, and a little stuffed Herbie the Love Bug. They also got a few DVDs that they love - Winnie the Pooh, Rio, the Phineas and Ferb movie, and Sleeping "Booty" as Pea calls it.
As always, their art supplies made them happy.
But our best present was opening escrow 2 days before Christmas! We had made an offer on this house before Thanksgiving and then were outbid. The buyers got cold feet and we got the house!
Koda top gift: A bin of army men from Toys R us. Funny because it was an impulsive black friday buy, and yet you'd think he'd have wanted it forever by his reaction. Battleship the game was also a huge hit. He is getting really good at it :) The easel from my Mother in Law is also used constantly.
Tristen top gift: Cars 2 stunt set. It was his brother gift, and something I convinced Koda to buy him since it was on sale on Amazon for $5. He also got a little Alphie guy to go with his Alphie. He is a little old for it, but he loves it. Add in some Cars 2 cars, and he was one happy boy.
Both boys got Pirate chests filled with pirate stuff from my mom and they adore them!!
Duds: A few things from my inlaws, but they fill a giant stocking with a bunch of junk, so that is bound to happen. Also, my brother got Tristen a sock monkey hat which he hated. I think I will also scale WAY back on stocking stuff next year. They liked the quality things, the filler stuff is already finding it's way to a dumpster.
All I wanted for Christmas was a new tea kettle, which I got. I was surprised to also get a breadmaker that I wanted but didn't even ask for since money is a little tight with the new house :) I love it already. It is like an easy bake oven for grownups, lol.
My best ones are the ones I got for myself. I knew my husband wasn't going to get me the things I really wanted so I used the money I got from taking surveys and bought what I wanted. I'm glad I did because all I got for Christmas (except for the sweater my mil got me) were figurines and Christmas village things. I like them, sure, but I can't really use them and it's a struggle to find room for them. The pattern books I got myself are still exciting for me. I'm itching to get started on them.
As for my kids, Rebecca's never happy with anything, no story change there this year. All my other kids are loving their games still.
