Great job Kris!

I'm doing just fine. I was up quite a bit later last night which created a bit of a challenge only because I felt like I needed to eat something. I was actually hungry so I ate a banana. Much better then choices I might have made 5 days ago. I had mandarin orange spark when I woke up and now I am eating the rest of my steel cut oats from yesterday with banana mashed in. I need to hard boil more eggs today. I made it to the gym yesterday and put in a good effort. I put 15 new songs on my ipod and plan on going to the gym today. I am such a habitual eater, just eating certain things while I am doing certain things if that makes sense. And I am also lazy with my habits. I am trying really hard and it feels good, accomplished. Each day I make it through I feel stronger :)

I had the mandarin orange when I finally rolled out of bed this a.m. too.  Kinda like OJ smile

I just hardboiled a dozen eggs and peeled them.

Good job on the gym!!  the ipod and music have always really helped me get through that torture.  I love listening to my music.

if you have a sweet tooth smear some all natural peanut butter on that banana.  it is soooo good and sweet and I think might be my newest obsession!

for me I feel like the cleanse is doing so much more than cleansing my innards!   it's giving me a chance to acknowledge what I was eating before (even if it wasn't necessarily bad for me, my portion was off the mark).

I'm learning what veggies in the future I can eat tons of and what I should limit.  I'm also learning that I don't HAVE to have cheese and ranch on a salad - I can still eat it and not die.

Your doing great Amber!!

The mandarin reminds me of Tang lol. I like it a lot.

I am getting ready to start my eggs.

I got some natural pb, it's really good. How much do you use on your fruit?

I'm learning a lot too, and trying to really teach myself to eat better and make better choices all the time.

Hi girls - day 3

I am sick :( like real sick. This sucks!

I am doing ok otherwise.

Think I may do eggwhites tonight mixed with sauted spinach and mushrooms in it.

I love almond butter. However the one with sea salt in it is better. Can you use that during the cleanse?

I get less than a teaspoon of it.  Then I just use a knife and smear it on every bite.

I'm hungry today but it's b/c I don't snack.  I went to that party and she had a fruit tray but I didn't eat anything but 1 piece of cantelope.   I must learn to always have a baggie of almonds in my purse.

I went to the store (again!) to get more fruit and veggies.   I ate a banana on the way home!  And we're going to a cookout tonight.  I'm making a veggie tray to take (wink) and I'm actually going to eat dinner before we go so I'm not tempted at all.

I'm actually hungry today too. I'm better now after a banana with pb on it :) I hear you on the store, I think my eating is rubbing off on the fam, all the bananas and apples I bought yesterday? Gone! It's a good thing though. Hannah and Kent are on a movie date and i'm headed to the gym when they get home then to get some more fruit and eggs. I have to work tomorrow then i'm off a couple more.

Interesting question for you... Starting this coming week I have to work a couple nights a week. How should I do this you think? It's really going to flip my world around.

So are you not having the between meal snacks? Such a good idea to eat beforehand.

amber I'm not snacking between meals and I don't think that is a good thing. because after that party I wanted to eat something and I was starving. if I would have just planned ahead and packed something little in my purse I would have been ok. live and learn I guess!

and I was think about your schedule before you posted that question. do you work nights and then sleep days?

Ah ok. It seems to help a lot the snacks. But honestly i'm not always hungry so I usually only snack if I am :)

I have been on days for a long time. This is my first stint of nights. My schedule will be Wednesday day shift and then Thursday, Friday nights. Complicated. On Thursday I will be awake most of the day and just take a nap so i'm not sure how to eat. Friday I will sleep during the day so I will have to eat Friday night. Im just not sure what to do. Thursday will really be a normal day you know? But I will be awake all night. It's really irritating, I shouldn't be working nights but due to some politics to put it most nicely I have to for awhile.

Maybe on Thursday I can eat lunch and have dinner when I get to work and then have healthy snacks if I need to eat in the night. I think I can make that work, and then just flip flop my schedule on Friday since I will sleep during the day. The shifts start at 630.

ahhh night shift people always confuse me!  I do not know how you do it and have kids and spouses, etc. on daytime schedules!

as for the eating . . . I think you eat normally on Thursday and snack as needed Thursday night.  Pack lots of your "free" veggies - peppers, cucumbers, celery, broccoli, cauliflower to munch on.  take some hard boiled eggs, some almonds, apples, bananas with the pb.

so then you will sleep all day Friday?  you will miss your meals on Friday if so - then you could just eat your regular meals just at the altered times.

That sucks Melissa, are the girls ok so far?

Kris i'm pretty sure banana with pb is my new bff ;)

Are you going to do the next part of advocare? The 14 days of the 24 day? I tried pink lemonade Spark today I wanted to love it but it was just ok for me. I wonder if I should have added more water, my sister says I should have lol. I have a strawberry mango she traded me that i'm going to try first thing in the morning, have you tried that one?

yes, love the banana, pb thing.

yes I'm doing the entire 24 days.  I'm kind of excited to see how I respond to the next 14 days.  This first 10 days is to clean the toxins and other junk out and get your body ready to receive all the the vitaims.  I'm really interested to see how those make me feel.

Try adding more water . . . the lemonade always looks really potent to me.   I like it though but I usually add more water if I'm drinking to from something other than the tiny 8 zo watter bottle.  And Strawberry Mango is one of my favorites.

Melissa - I hope you're feeling better this a.m.

I'm starting day 8.  Yesterday with the fiber drink was a killer, again.   I did like bedtime night having to do the cleanse pills - everything is in the am now.

I really, really should and need to be doing some form of exercise.  I honestly think my results (just from a weight loss standpoint) would be different.  We took the kids to the park last night to ride bikes and I walked and it felt soooo great.  I'm going to try to do it again today if I can sneak it in.

have a good day girls smile

Day 5- sick still :(

Having a hard time even eating. I have lost 7 lbs. I must have been so bloated. My stomach looks awesome, lol. I realize this is not normal, but I think my body was so sluggish that the water and clean eating has kicked it into full gear.

When I have a craving the banana with the pb fixes me right up.

I'm going to do the whole 24 days too! So glad we can do this together. I'm on day 7 so it's back to the drink for me tomorrow. That sounds funny ;) I'm hoping for some really great results. Are you on day 9? Fiber drink again is 8-10 right?

I am finishing up the strawberry mango, I liked it.

I didn't exercise yesterday because I worked a 12 and the gym closes early but I am going today with my sister. Will definitely require extra motivation as it's freezing and we have a few inches of snow on the ground. I have to do it though. I'm waiting for that loving to go the gym feeling... it's not here yet ;) Good for you getting out to the park, it counts!

Kris did you say you have tried the vanilla mr shake? I really like the chocolate and I think I want to try the vanilla.

Hi all! I have been watching this thread (as have others based on its views ;) ). I have a couple ofquestions. About how many calories are you looking at? It sounds alot like Medifast frankly, but just substituting the medifast meals with Spark drinks. Melissa and Amber, since you all have done both, can you comment on any differences? I am not ready to start with any new products, but I keep trying (albeit unsuccessfully so far) to keep all my meals "lean and green" simply as a lifestyle change.

Kris, as for adding exercise, not everyone will agree with me, but, if you are looking to lose weight, I would focus on that for a couple of weeks before adding exercise so that the eating routine is truly ingrained. You may get sooo hungry when you start exercising that if your eating plan is not really set, you are tempted to fall off. And, since you will be exercising, you will want to make sure you are increasing calories or timing the food so you dont crash.
