So there's this dumbsh!t mom who suggested to her daughter, who is obssessed with sharkboy and lava girl, that she dress up as lava girl for halloween.
The daughter said yes, yes, yes, I want to be lava girl and once my mind is set I don't change it.
Then the mom went to find that costume, of the movie that was made in 2005, and they only sell them on ebay for $100.
Now that mom, who has not a creative bone in her body, has to make the costume.
Hannah is super set. She decided she wanted to be a witch, we were in Children's Place last week and she fell in love with their witch costume including matching broom. Bought it right then. 50% off between the sale and a coupon I had. I think I will pick for Bryson, I love the ON monster costume. I can let him pick next year right? ;)
Bel wants to be Catwoman, thankfully (in my head) it will be an easy one to do.
Joe wants to be either a soldier or a secret agent. I'm thinking he will probably end up going for the secret agent since he has been playing Tina Turner singing GoldenEye at full blast over and over for the past 3 or so weeks.
Koda has wanted to be Darth Vadar since last year when I wouldn't spend $30 on the stupid costume. I bought it at 90% off and fortunately, he still wants to be it. Unfortunately, they only had husky left when the 90% sale happened- but, I'll make it work.
Tristen seems to just want to use the costumes he already has in the costume bin, but I bought him a Darth Vadar outfit at the same time as Koda's last winter just in case.
They better not change their mind, I think the costumes are so outrageously priced for the quality. We love love love the 75-90% off sale at Target after though for their dress up bin.
My boys want to be Mario and Luigi. The costumes of those seem SO SO SO cheap. I hate to spend money on it. But I think that is what they want. We will see. They have a bunch of dress up costumes as well that they wear all the time. I LOVE stocking up after halloween.
Hmmm, maybe we should try and do a halloween swap. ???
Lucas has mentioned being Harry Potter. We read the first three books this summer (I finished the 4th on my own because I think it is too dark for a 6 year old) but he loves his wii Lego Harry Potter game.
We tried hard not to buy much of anything this year, except for Holly's stuff, since she has been growing like a weed lately and not much fits her atm.
Evie is going to be some kind of fairy/princess using a dress and wings she already has, Lance is going to be a cowboy (jeans, a vest he already had, and I'll buy him a cheapo cowboy hat from somewhere -- coiled jump rope for a lasso; we have a few around here), and Holly's costume is a flower (iris) fairy.
I feel like I'm in the movie Mean Girls, where Halloween is an excuse to dress like a hooker. I can't find a great cat costume that is appropriate for the life of me.

Ethan told me last night he wants to be a white ninja. He has a karate outfit he got from a free trial. He also requested white gloves and a mask. Easy peasy.
Noah said he wants to be a red ninja. I'm not sure if he was serious or just copying Ethan. I'm also not sure if we are getting his costume or his mom is. I'm wondering if I can dye his white karate outfit red and call it a day.
We will probably put Eli in Ethan's Superman costume from when he was 1 unless his mom sends us something else.
I really want Kiera and Rhys to be minions (easy! overalls, yellow turtleneck and fun round glasses!) and for Kyle to be Gru from Despicable Me. But so far, Kiera wants nothing to do with that. lol. She wants to be Super girl (got the costume at the after halloween sales last year). Rhys will probably be a super hero too then.
Carter picked out Mickey at the Disney store and I couldn't say no. He wears it every single day, so at least that's done. Kaylin will just go to the costume closet and pick something out. I think she'll be JoJo the Circus Clown. Cutest costume ever! Braydon says he wants to be Spiderman or Anikin, but not the Anikin he was last year, the grown up version which would require a different costume. Ugh!

my kids constantly want to be cats - i usually just do a body suit with tutu and ballet shoes, ears, and long fuzzy tail.
R wants to be a cat this year (black), and C wants to be a witch. peasy.

Saw JenM the other day and we were talking about how the fairy and witch costumes are slutty too.
Dominic wants to be Spongebob, the costume I found looks so cheap so I think we might try to make our own out of a box like we did with his robot costume a couple of years ago.
