I thought I would share what I am up to next around the house!!
I am getting ready to paint a trellis stencil in our foyer. I am also going to paint the huge armoire (it was used for Don's office) and use it in the foyer to store coats, etc. here is a pic of a bathroom with a similar design. Our foyer has three walls (it is essentially a box and the front door opens right into it so it is the very first thing you see when you come in the house..
I am VERY excited about this project!!
then next i am painting my kitchen cabinets and the countertops (we were going to do marble (tile it) but decieded it would be too much work and expense), and put up a new backsplash, which will be marble subway tile I am going to do most of this work too except the tile although it shouldn't be too bad.
then, i got a semi-new PB couch from CL for $200!! and I found a coffee table for $25 so I am revamping my living room. Don is moving his office to the third floor (YIPPEE))!!! I attached a pic of the new couch and table and I ordered this rug (in brown) today also.
(oh, tile on kitchen counter is a mixed blessing. Nice in that you can put hot pots right on it but the grout is a bitch. Seriously. and dependign on how the tile is done, it's impossible to do things like roll out a pie crust, etc. And the grout is a bitch. :) )

liz and i had a text convo about the tiled counter thing. we used to have them and i hated it. i forgot about rolling dough - that was a HUGE issue. ug.

when we first bought our house, don tiled a countertop for our bathroom. I HATED that thing with a passion. so, yeah, i am glad we are not doing it. not sure how painting the countertop is going to work either, but worst case scenario is that we end up with new countertops (i don't think i can lose ;)
you should really go into business....buy the things off of CL do them up and sell them on. seriously!
I have thought about that, but right now, i don't really have a good place to do it. (I need a garage or a shed). but, i saw this woman's etsy shop where she basically did that and she sold about 11 or 12 pieces of furniture for some good money.
