I'll be having sinus surgery on August 22nd. He's going to clean out my right sinus cavity and fix my deviated septum
The doctor said, while it looked like what was in my right sinus cavity was fungal, it could also very well be something from my maxiofacial surgery I had when I was 17.
I talked to him about the mold we found in the a/c ducts and that we had sampled the inside and outside air and were going to send the inside air for testing, he said he would be very surprised if what we found was the "bad mold" because we just didn't see a lot of it around here. He said mostly what we see around here is your normal run of the mill, high-humidty climate mold
We didn't tell him this, but after he said that it sort of made sense, because honestly, our outside air sample looks just as bad, if not worse than our inside sample, lol
He also said he wasn't 100% sure that this was the cause of my headaches, but it certainly wouldn't hurt to clean them out and see.
My thinking is, we've checked everything else, and that's all fine..this right sinus cavity is the only abnormal thing we've found, so I'm hoping this is it and this fixes me.
Keep me in your prayers, that the surgery goes smoothly. Thank you
I will be surprised if it does NOT take care of your headaches.
John is not a headache person, never has been. Until all the sinus stuff started. His would get so bad that he would have to wear sunglasses inside the house. Finally he would head to the ENT and it would be surgery within a couple of days. This always took care of the headaches until the next flare up.
I'm really hoping cleaning that mess up in there out gets you on the right track. After the surgery I would encourage you to look into that nettipot. Personally I could not imagine pouring hot water up my nose but it seriously has been a lifesaver for my husband (and I've heard raves about it from lots of other people).

LOVE them. Well, I use a syringe-same principle but I find it easier to use and control.
Seriously, Jenn. I have been on so so so so many abx over the years for my sinuses. I have always been prone to problems in that area, but now I really have to avoid abx at all costs. I use the nasaline and it is a GODSEND. You totally get used to the feeling, and it makes a HUGE difference. Then you get hooked on it, lol. Two very enthusiastic thumbs up from me!!!
I hope this helps! I'm sure it will. Also, I don't do the netipot but I think mine is called "sinus rinse." I like it much better than a netty pot. It's more like a squirt bottle and I feel like it is easier and better to use than the netipot. Food for though. ;)

if I'm remembering right, I think that's the same thing Kenneth used before
Thanks for the update, Jenn. I do hope that cleaning out your sinus will help your headaches. Sending lots of prayers that the surgery goes well and the headaches are gone after!
