Robin, I personally have not. However, our last church collected home baked breads in the community room freezer. Every time a church member visisted those homebound, they would bring a loaf or two.
I'm not sure about what to take but what about baking them something? I'm sure they would love that.
You could bring cards in case they like to play any games (or other games you might have) if they are healthy enough for that. I'm sure they get lonely. You could ask about their family if you see pictures up.
We bring homemade cards for the seniors. They love them. Plus for seniors we bring those toffee hard candy that most seniors love. Flowers for those in hospital.
Often a fruit basket with cookies.
Really you cannot go wrong. People appreciate being thought of.
I would bring sugarfree candy. That way you are safe if they are diabetic. They would love to have that treat. A lot of elderly people are diabetic and baked goods are off limits to them.
