I've never used a sling or anything, because I never really felt like I needed one. Now that I have baby #3, I think using one would help out a lot! I need my hands!
I tried to use a sling with MB, but it made me nervous and I had trouble getting her situated in it.
What sling would you recommend that is EASY to use, SAFE, etc? Some of these slings look very complicated. I want something that I can throw on, plunk the baby in, and go.
I really liked my simple ring sling but I normally used it when the babies were sitting up. Both of mine were pretty early sitters and I used it to strap them to my hip.
Everything is going GREAT! Beatrice lost 9 oz. from her birthweight while in the hospital, but she went to her pediatrician yesterday and is now 6 oz. OVER her birthweight! Her billirubin is down (so no need for jaundice treatment of any kind) AND the ped. said she thought Bea would only need to be on the apnea monitor for one more week.
Hi. I'm glad Beatrice is doing so well, that's fantastic!
I LOVE my Ergo carrier and also used it with Kevin. It's really comfortable and easy to use. I gave the Moby wrap a try but didn't really like it, but then gave it to my friend and she loves it. So, to each their own.
Here's the Ergo: http://www.ergobabycarriers.com/babycarriers/category/carrier/ And the infant insert which I used for a few times, but only because we didn't go out much and it was hot then: http://www.ergobabycarriers.com/babycarriers/category/infant_insert/
Another great option, and very similar to the Ergo is the Beco Butterfly 2: http://www.becobabycarrier.com/cat-1/butterfly-2 I would probably go with this one if I had to choose all over, and it says the infant insert is included.
With Kevin I also tried a hotsling but didn't really like it. It was tough to get him in when he was small, but then once he got bigger and easier to get in he was heavy and it hurt my shoulder and back.
Good luck, I hope you find something you really like. I agree that carrying baby #3 is a huge help!

Thank you for the links! I love the fabric choices on the Beco carriers. Hmmm...I wonder if I can convince DH that I will use it enough to constitute the $140 pricetag. I actually think I would. These look much more usable to me than the sling type of carriers.
Well, I just won an ebay auction for a beco butterfly 2 carrier! It's brand new, and is in one of the new patterns (although it wasn't my first choice of patterns), but i was able to save $32 by getting it on ebay.
I can't wait for it to get here and I hope I like it!
