Kevin is going in for some pretty hefty dental work tomorrow morning at 8am, he'll be partially sedated. Please keep him in your thoughts. I know everything will be fine, but I'm still feeling anxious about the procedure. And of course still feeling guilty about all of this having to happen in the first place.
I appreciate you all.
Thinking of you, Jolynn- i know firsthand how you feel. Andrew had to have several teeth removed when he was 4. He did fine (although, like you, I was a nervous wreck ;)
Sending prayers that it all goes well. Like the others said, no guilt. I felt quite badly when Elizabeth had to have six fillings and she has had others since then. Her dentist assured me that some kids just have a harder time than others. Let us know how it goes.
Positive thoughts to you and Kevin! I am sure it will be fine, but I understand your nervousness completely. Good luck!
ETA: And as for the guilt, easier said than done, but dont let it eat you. I know from here and in person that you are a good mom and instill good habits in your boys. Dont feel guilty- these things happen!

Awe, poor Kevin. Sending lots of prayers and positive thoughts. I totally understand the guilt. Mason had to have fillings on all 4 of his front teeth when he was smaller because of night nursing. The first dentist made me feel like total crap about it too. Luckily the second dentist felt bad and told me it was probably more because he had reflux, haha.
Thank you, everyone. Kevin did GREAT this morning and we're now home recovering. Unfortunately, during the drive home I didn't realize he was biting his top lip since it was still numb. He really did a number on it, it's super swollen now. My sister said he looks like Octomom, lol!
The dentist was able to get all of the work done so we won't need another trip back. Kevin had no problems with taking the meds, and already he's starting to act like his normal self. Earlier, he was telling me I had four eyes and two mouths. And while still in the chair this morning he mumbled, "I feel different...it's beautiful." :)
Very proud of my little guy, he's a trooper. Thanks, again!

Jolynn, I am so glad he did well!!! I meant to post earlier that i was thinking about him and you, and now I am just glad it all went smoothly!!
Don't feel guilty-you are a fantastic mom and this could happen even if he brushed 3 times a day everyday and flossed, etc. Try and give yourself a break!!!

Glad he did well!!
(I forgot to sort of "warn" you about that - Ivy had to have a baby root canal done last year and afterwards she did the same thing with the inside of her cheek. She had the largest bruise on her cheek (it looked really really bad and it was so hard to try and explain to people how she got it ;)
