Ducks. Do your inlays have ducks. We are looking into getting a couple Pekin ducklings for pets. I can't really find a huge negative about them except they have no sphincter so they can't be potty trained and there poop stinks. Oh and they can be loud (so we are also considering a Cayuga) Anyway I was wondering if their farm had any and if you knew anything about them as pets. Thanks

We raise them early at our school for the kids to see. Where are you raising them? From egg or will you get them as babies? Their poop is awful, runny, watery mess. They are vey dirty. They are cute, but I personally would not want as a pet unless I had the outside space. Not sure of much else.

You also have to be careful with the little ones handeling them. You can injure them easy if kids think they are like a cat or something.

What made you wan them?

I'm sorry this isn't a helpful post but holy crap this was funny - "I can't really find a huge negative about them except they have no sphincter..." It made me LOL!

Lol we would get them shipped as day old chicks from a hatchery. The kids want pets and I do to but dh is against any indoor pets right now. From what we have read online we have enough space for the two we would get.

I grew up having a pet duck. I don't know what kind he was though. He was the yellow color of duck. I lived on a lake so we had an outside cage for him and took him out swimming every day. When he got older we let him go and just fed him. He was surprisingly a great pet! He would let me hold him and fall asleep on me, follow me everywhere, ect.

His cage was big. Probably like 3" by 2", but I think it was overkill. I'm sure they don't need that much space as long as you are letting them out enough to run around.

Tracy-4 kids and now ducks??? I'm not sure if that qualifies you for sainthood or the looney bin, lol!!!!

My ILs have chickens and have had turkeys before, but not ducks. But it sounds like you have had some input already. Good luck!!
