anyone following the casey anthony trial?

i have been following it off and on for the past two weeks - it is just astounding to me how she has lied and now the defense wants to blame her father for sexually abusing her and that he was there when the baby drowned. it is just crazy.

what in the world are her lawyers thinking??...i can see going with a defense of "the baby drowned and I panicked" but for god's sake leave out her father and all the other crazy strories.  what a mess.

I'm addicted!

I listen online at work and then try to catch the analysis at night.  (like right now!!)

Today, the picture of the shorts was just too much cry

And while I've thought all along that she used chloroform to knock Caylee out so she could go about her life and she most likely accidently killed her . . . today what hit me like a ton of bricks was the amount of duct tape wrapped around that babies head.  If she accidently od'd her on chloroform WHY the duct tape around the head?

Well, and today they testified that the duct tape was put on before the child was dead.  THAT was hard to hear.

It's all so horrific.

totally agree.  what i didn't know until the trial was that she had asked her mom to babysit caylee so she could go to puerto rico - so her mom says no and then soon after she starts searching for all those crazy thing, ie. how to  make chloroform, neck breaking, internal bleeding, etc.  coincidence?   and the fact that the tape was wrapped around the head says premeditated to me.

I haven't been keeping up AT.ALL. with this

There is an article in People about it, but I haven't gotten to that issue yet

Reading what you all have said-it is so sad. :(

Someone could have loved and cared for that innocent child-her dying was senseless

I haven't been watching it but my mom is OBSESSED. She watches the coverage from morning til evening. She said that if that were in town, she and her sister would try to be in the courtroom.

My mom also said that she really hates the defense attorney. Apparently he's a real sleaze.

I've only been following it a tiny bit, but if your child accidentally drowned you still do not go out partying afterwards. I mean a normal person who loses a child would probably barely be able to get out of bed for months and months.

I don't know.  JB is just trying to create a bit of doubt in 1 juror's mind, that is all it will take.

I thought Dr G was great today.  The only way should would have been better was to say "yes it was a homicide b/c if it were an accidental drowing WHY would there have been multiple layers of duct tape put over her mouth?"

Cheney Mason gets on my nerves.  I guess he has tried lots of these types of cases and perhaps he appeals to a jury - he just bugs me.  He appears argumentative with the witnesses and confrontational and like he's trying to trip them up with every question.  I've heard JB is not qualified to be lead and that CM just came in not all that long ago.

it is certainly interesting and sad and I hope there is justice for this little girl in the end.

and the shorts picture they showed yesterday - today they showed a close up of the tag for the shorts. Circo (from Target) size 24 months and a pink shirt. that just happened to be exactly what my daughter was wearing yesterday but the shorts were size 3T. it broke my heart!!

I know, Kris...caylee's birthday is like August 9th, 2005 (so close to our July babies), you know. so, it has always affected me because ivy and her were similar in age. if she was still alive, she would be the same age as Ivy.

i also thought Dr. G was great. She really had no qualms about stating that it was a homicide and why exactly. I would hate to be the female attorney who always gets stuck comforting Casey. how horrible would that be.

oddly I did not realize she was our kids age until last week!  I guess in my mind she will always be that almost 3 year old little girl . . . yep, she most likely would have just finished Kindergarten had she been able to live!
