how would you handle this?

my husband has several older family members (aunts, etc) that have made f/b accounts in the past year or so. none of these people have posted a single status update, don't comment on walls, etc. but it is apparent they read their newsfeed b/c they will make comments at family functions with info i know they could only get from reading my (and other family members) updates/ looking at pictures, etc.

one even had the audacity to say that i am "on f/b all day." not.at.all. i just have my alerts sent to my phone so yes, i respond to things people post to me quickly, but not because i am sitting at my desk all day. not even close.

would you defriend? block? not do anything? i could see if i thought they genuinely made accounts just to keep in touch with people, but the judgement regarding how one's time is spent and what they write seems like their intentions aren't really the best.

This is why I have not friended any of my relatives. If they want updates, they can read my blog. Which I update about once a year. lol.

Corey, I am not exactly sure of how you do it, but somewhere in your settings you can set it so that certain people can only see limited amount of things. You can keep them from seeing your wall and posting. If they say anything about it, just say you have been having problems with facebook (and you are having a problem with facebook which is them butting in and judging).

i do this with one of my MIL's friends.  she definitely doesn't need to be reporting to my MIL that i'm posting pictures of my beer.

also, i will say that i think quite a few of my relatives get on there just to see pics and stuff so maybe that's why they're there?

tx, if you're reading this, sue conrad who made that stupid remark about the daily show the other day is the PRIME example of this.  LOL

I think you can block to where they can not see your status updates but can still view your pictures maybe go that route.

Count me in on being the type who would block statuses, but let them see the pictures.

Joe's family is similar, as is my dad's side of the family... but in their cases, it's been therapeautic, because for example, fb is how Joe's family found out that I'm not a democrat (seriously almost worthy of death by fire with Joe's family.) But if it causes drama, I block them. Period.

how rude!! If I were in your shoes, I would unfriend them. No offense if people are using FB to nose around aren't friends, especially if they are making negative comments about my activity. hope all goes well!!!

as in the office.

does that clear anything up for you?

LOL!

(p.s. my theory is that all of the brains went to the boys in her family and she got the leftover brain matter.  :X)
