i talked to the nurse for the specialist. she said they can't advise me since i haven't yet been seen, and she also said that the doctor doesn't typically see patients if they are already pregnant. ugh.
i went ahead and started the progesterone. i decided it can't hurt. i am having some spotting though, so i'm not sure if it is going to stick. but, i am going to try to set up an appointment with a new OB tomorrow and i will just tell them that my old OB was going to put me on progesterone so i went ahead and started it.
Hugs Crystal. I can hear the stress in your posts. After my miscarriages, my dr told me to start trying again as soon as I was emotionally ready. He said there was no physical reason to wait to try to conceive after a miscarriage, especially if they were chemical pregnancies. I would definitely call your new OB to let them know the situation. And I agree that the progesterone can't hurt. BTW, I can totally see a line. Really hoping this is your month!
Crystal the progesterone will not hurt you. Been there, it will only help. I was on a pretty hefty dose when I got pregs with Hannah and took it to 14 weeks vaginally with Bryson. I too see the line. I hope you can get some answers quickly and some relief from your stress. Hang in there.
Thanks, Amber. I took it yesterday and am continuing it today. I made an appointment with a new OB, but the appt isn't until next Tuesday, and I know that they can't really do anything except for give me progesterone anyway. I'm still having light bleeding, so I'm not sure if the progesterone is going to help or not, but I agree that it can't hurt.
Hey crystal!
Just seeing this now.
You absolutely made the right call starting progesterone- I took it every iui cycle directly 2 days after the insemination, way before I knew if I was pregnant or not. Progesterone is something we naturally produce after ovulation - there is nothing wrong with you taking it now!
Also, progesterone CAN cause spotting. Especially is using vaginal creams or suppositories. I had a lot of pink spotting with cate, so the doc switched me to oral pills after a few weeks. I continued to week 12.
Also to chime in - from the infertility boards I sent nearly 2 years on, there were a lot of ladies who got pregnant right after a miscarriage and had healthy pregnancies. It happened quite often actually. I don't think there is any problem with that.
I hope you get comfort from a doctor soon. Perhaps get some beta bloodwork.
(((hugs)))
