Hey ladies! I am new here, but wanted to share the remainder of my pregnancy with you all. If you happened to see my posting on Facebook, we are expecting our third little boy at the beginning of June. We found out in late January that he had a rare, complicated heart defect called truncus arteriosus. We had to switch hospitals and care providers, so I am now under the care of a team of pediatric cardiologists, perinatologists, and a cardiothoracic surgeon.
Starting next week I have 2 NSTs each week until Lukas' delivery. On top of that I have bi-weekly growth scans and fetal echos in addition to routine appointments with the perinatologist. That means some weeks I will be at the hospital as much as 4-days a week. Bleh. We are meeting Lukas' surgeon on the 27th for a consultation to discuss what the tentative plan is for Lukas and what his open heart operation will entail. I am definitely nervous, but have heard amazing things about this surgeon. Our cardiology team actually said he was "magic" in the operating room and he came highly recommended by several friends I have who are doctors and nurses, as well as a few other Hoosier heart moms I have met through my blog.
Our last appointment was Tuesday, the 5th. Its kind a long story, but you are all more than welcome to read everything about Lukas thus far at our blog: www.lukascorwin.com if you would like.
In any event, I really look forward to sharing this crazy journey with you all and hope you don't mind me jumping in on these boards with you all!

Thanks ladies. Its definitely been a bit of a whirlwind since we found out. I just don't think anything ever entirely prepares you for something like this. I had two totally healthy children in the past and never in my wildest dreams thought this go round would be any different! But, we all have our plan and this is ours. It will all be worth it. I have faith :)
Aww thanks ladies! I haven't been feeling very good this week. Lots of dizzy spells and nausea. I also had a pretty bad bought of contractions on Monday for a good portion of the day. I have a NST on Tuesday and Thursday of next week, so hopefully we can figure out what is going on :(
