my friend did it with an ablasion as well.

She loved it.
It can be done in office.

I was going to do it as well but my doc was a little hesitant when I asked a few more questions about the paraguard.

My step-mom was just telling me that her daughter had this done about a year ago (essure and ablasion).  She was a TINY thing, about 110lbs.  She now weighs 195lbs.  I guess the procedure somehow caused her to gain like crazy!  I'm not sure why, but I would ask about it.  I mean, this girl has been so tiny for her whole life and now she is struggling just to stop the gain.

Odd. I wonder why. They have several different types of ablasion. But they are like water, a netting (that is removed), or some other thing. It must be from the essure but I havent heard of that before.

I'm not sure exactly which it was, but this girl has always been so tiny and for some reason after the surgery she just blew up.  I mean she almost doubled her weight!  I assume maybe it affected her hormones in some way, but I really have no idea.

idu why the essure has an ablation involved?

my understanding is that it causes some type of scarring in the fallopian tube that prevents the egg from making its journey

i will have to look it up

I may be confused, as I was only half paying attention until she told me how much weight she had gained.  Maybe she had the ablasion at the same time because of something else, but I'm sure she said ablasion because I had never heard of it before.  I would just search around about the weight gain just to see if you can find anything, just to make sure.  Also, who knows, maybe the weight was from other things, ya know, but this girl is in her 30s and has always been a twig and then put on 100lbs in a year.  Seems odd to me.

It doesnt. Im just saying that what my friend had done. Both at the same time.

YOu dont have to do them together. She just figured if she was done having kids she would lessen her periods with the ablasion.

Hey Tab (and all my other old lady friends!) First, I truly miss everyone, just was in a horrible funk and didn't wanna drag anyone down with me so I checked out of MS for a longggg time... So while I know i'm NEVER around anymore and probably have no business posting, I do still check in on everyone when i can, pray when needed and think about you all often. Then, I came across this post.

I just had this done on March 1st! It came highly recommended from a few people I know so I did a lot of research and just went for it. (Over the last year I've had a crash in my world, single again, decided that having two kids already with different fathers, it was time to have this done). And so I didn't want to miss any time from work or have to worry about scarring, cutting and all that crap.

What I can tell you about it is they put little TINY coils in your tubes, which your tissue then heals around, then 3 months after the procedure they do a dye test to make sure everything is completely blocked. So far, I have had NO problems! I def had a lot of cramping the night of surgery and next day along with bleeding for about 10 days, but i was back to work the next day, relatively unscathed. My gyno only does this in the hospital so I was sedated under general anesthisia which sucked but the procedure itself was only about 20 min. I spend the majority of my time in recovery. I do understand that some dr. will do it in the office though... guess it just depends on the dr's preference.

I have not gone in for my "FINAL" check up where they do the dye test to confirm I'm absolutely sealed shut, which will get done in May. I will say that I have noticed a little weight gain (maybe 10lbs), however, having hit rock bottom, I was at a very low, unhealthy weight anyway so I think it's just related to me being out of my dark place and being HAPPY again, not because of this procedure.

The other reason I chose this one is that it is COMPLETELY NON-REVERSIBLE so keep that in mind. That was my #1 reason for doing it, I KNOW i'm done forever!!!!
Feel free to contact me if you wanna talk more about it. I miss you very much, along with everyone else here and I'd love to get back in the loop if I can find the time.
