Ok I am going to ask again.  THere are older posts I have seen here about CD but with the newer cloth diapers out I thought I'd make a updated one and see feedbacks.

I'm going back and forth between Bumgenius OS/AIO and Gro-via.

Which would be better?

I see lots say AIO take longer to dry and stuff.  Is it worth the hassle?

Also, should get about 24 diapers to be safe right?

I'm still so overwhelmed LOL  So I'm askin the experts here.  Time is getting close.  I'm about to turn 34 weeks this friday so I want to start getting on it for the diapers.  I just dont know where to start.  Ive gotten help on facebook but theres SO many to choose from that I still dont know wtf I'm doing.  LOL.

Help me!!!

Thanks so much.

I would recommend not getting 24 of any one diaper to start out with, just because you may end up not liking a certain kind and won't know until after you've tried it.

I never liked AIOs, to be honest.  I know some people swear by them, but the amount of time they take to dry was definitely a factor for me, and Pea always seemed to leak out of AIOs.

I like the GroVias but don't love them.  I don't like pulling the snap-in insert off when it's covered with poop, LOL.

I've tried just about every style of cloth diaper and my favorites change all the time.

For a newborn, I would probably recommend just starting with prefolds and covers.  Washing and drying 12+ AIOs every day in the beginning is going to be a huge PITA, IMO.

There are some online cloth retailers that have trial packages - I think Cotton Babies and Jillian's Drawers maybe?  You could try one or two of a certain style and then send them back after a couple of weeks and try another one.  You could ease into it instead of starting with cloth 100% if you're unsure of what you want to buy.

JM2c.  It's totally overwhelming at first, but it's really addictive!  I had to refrain from buying some that I saw on clearance on swaddlebees.com because new diapers are the last thing I need right now!

I am pro AIO unlike ABH ;) but they are just what work for us.

I use the Bumgenius Elementals (formarlly the Organics) AIO. I love them! Used them with Keegan and now Ryder. Had a while where I had both in dipes, shew, lots of laundry..lol.

I did stock up on Bumgenius XS AIO for Ryder when he was born. I will say ABH is onto that there with prefolds and covers. I should've tried that. The XS hardly held any pee and even though they say fit to 12 lbs by the time Ryder was 9 lbs he was leaking out of them.

As far as the onesize Ryder fit into them when he was 9-10 pounds. He was about 6-8 weeks before we went into the Onesized dipes.

You will go through a lot on the beginning but once they get a bit older again the 6-8 week more you slow down some.

Also, I have never found a good night time combination and have tried tons so we just use disposables overnight.

I tried the BumGenius AIO, bought a couple on sale. They are okay for me, but I don't love them.

I would really recommend going with prefolds and covers to start with. I found that system to be super easy in the beginning, and they were easy to clean. Have you checked Craigslist to see what's available in your area? I bought 36 prefolds, 6 covers, 3 snappis and she threw in a wet bag all for only $40. I only used about half of the prefolds, and when Kate outgrew them I was able to get my money back on Craigslist.

We didn't start cd'ing right away, probably until Kate was around 3 months. Don't stress about it too much, just ease your way in to it and try different kinds to see what you like best. I wouldn't buy all of one type up front. I still find myself testing the waters and wanting to try different kinds all the time.

Good luck and have fun with it! We're here to answer your questions.

Ok thanks girls!  I think I will get a trial of something and try them out once babys here and see from there.  I'll have disposables on hand for till I get the hang of CD.

It's so overwhelming for sure!  But I'm determined to do CD this time around.  I am pretty sure I'll be back with questions!! =)
