what not to wear....help!!

i am in desperate need of new clothes and I have that show "what not to wear" in my head...(they would have a field day with me) since i've gained weight, i have put off clothes shopping. I really have only been wearing elastic waiste band pants and pull over tee shirts. or a pull over hoodie.

so, does anyone have any favorite brands that they can recommend? has anyone been in my shoes before where you weighed more than you wanted but still looked reasonably fashionable.   or, what should I be wearing (i still tend to lean towards form fitting shirts when I know I shouldn't).  but I also don't want to go to the extreme of wearing a tent, you know?  One of my major flaws is my mid section.  I "think" i have nice legs ( well, up until the accident...so, not sure about that just yet, but I did like wearing dresses before).

i am browsing chadwicks right now...if anyone is bored and wants to recommend some stuff for me, i'd love it!

oh and this is all just everyday casual wear...nothing too dressy.

Not sure how you carry your wait in your hips, butt region, but be careful of shirts that hit you in the hip. It actually makes you look wider. I know when we carry weight in our stomachs we want to cover, but you actually need something fitted.

are you large chested?

I am with Sonya, I love all those outfits. And I love "What Not to Wear", lol. I am a little obsessed with that show. In the words of Stacy and Clinton, it looks like most of those tops would be good for creating a waistline...I wish those two would shop with me!

I like numbers 2 on.  Number 1, I feel like the cross over right over the butt/hip area might be unflattering.

Note- I have the fashion sense of a toad, so take it for what it is worth (not much, lol)

yeah...i watched and they always emphasize a waist (even if you have to "make" one.)  i think the blouse (the last one) does that. I'll be anxious to see it in person.

I love open front sweaters and vests... I would buy the open front sweaters you posted for myself smile.gif I think they are super cute. I have a few open front things that I usually wear over fitted tops to hide my side rolls/muffin top and I've had lots of people ask me where I got them from and told me they really liked me in them.
