Hotels in Washington DC
Permalink

I was just wondering if any of you can tell me good hotels in Washington.  I know Muffy has been to some of them.  I want one that is near a metro station so we can access the attractions.

What is the best area? Family hotels? Best attractions?
Thanks!

I know this is sad because I live 40 minutes from DC, but IHNI!!! Lol. We never stay in the city, so IDK anything about hotels or where to stay. But Bill works near the Pentagon, so I can have him ask around at work-some of his co-workers might have some good ideas about where to stay.

When are you going?

Last time I went, which was about 10 years ago we stayed at the Loews hotel. I really liked the location.

I have no idea if Loews even owns it anymore.

Roxy, I go to DC all the time.

The best place to stay is around Dupont Circle.  There is a metro right there and lots of nice restaurants around and it's a relatively safe area.

The last time I was there, I stayed at hotel Palomar.  It is a newly-renovated hotel (it was a hilton hotel before), very modern and chic.  Also very kid-friendly.  They even had a welcome gift for Christopher.  In the evenings they had complimentary manager's reception (which is very rare in DC hotels) serving wonderful wines and appetizers. The hotel was near a Dupont Circle metro.  There was also a supermarket across the street - very convenient.  There is also a CVS nearby.  I loved everything about that hotel. Here is the link:
