Instead of a guest book, I was thinking I'd get a children's book and have everyone write her notes of well-wishes in it.
Anyone have a great suggestion? If she were having a girl, I'd do Someday (not really for little kids, IMO, but I can't read it without crying), but she's NOT having a girl and is kinda upset about it.
I love The Giving Tree. Don't know if that's appropriate or what you were thinking but it popped into my head first. I can't read the whole thing without crying but I LOVE it.
April, I ordered your book for myself. It looks great!
Juni, I think your suggestion is perfect, especially based on what I read in the reviews... it looks like there's an undertone of self-sacrifice in the tree's endless giving, and I think that would set the perfect backdrop of getting guests to write advice in the book. Yay!
One million thanks!!! I knew y'all could do better than I would alone.
"hey wait, you're here beside me now, is this our Mommy Date? Never mind the other places. Here we are. Why wait? One day we'll go to the park, the circus, farm and zoo, but for today let's cuddle with the book, just me and you.
See time will take you far from here, you're growing way too fast. All I want is Mommy time to make the moments last. Something we'll remember so that come some far-off day, you'll know how much I loved you 'cause we took the time to play."
