Need help quick -- question for baby shower
Permalink

Hi all,

I'm sitting on Amazon indecisive, and knew y'all would be able to help me out.

I'm throwing a baby shower on Friday... theme is here:

http://www.hostesswiththemostess.com/themes/baby_showers/cirque_du_bebe_french_circus/

She's obviously having a boy.

ANYWAY

Instead of a guest book, I was thinking I'd get a children's book and have everyone write her notes of well-wishes in it.

Anyone have a great suggestion? If she were having a girl, I'd do Someday (not really for little kids, IMO, but I can't read it without crying), but she's NOT having a girl and is kinda upset about it.

Thoughts? Anyone?

I love The Giving Tree. Don't know if that's appropriate or what you were thinking but it popped into my head first. I can't read the whole thing without crying but I LOVE it.

Oh, and I can't look at the link you posted (I'm at work) so I'm not basing it off of connecting to that. I probably should have just not posted, LOL.

Thanks to both of you!

April, I ordered your book for myself. It looks great!

Juni, I think your suggestion is perfect, especially based on what I read in the reviews... it looks like there's an undertone of self-sacrifice in the tree's endless giving, and I think that would set the perfect backdrop of getting guests to write advice in the book. Yay!

One million thanks!!! I knew y'all could do better than I would alone. heart.gif

here's the last page of the mommy date:

"hey wait, you're here beside me now, is this our Mommy Date?
Never mind the other places. Here we are. Why wait?
One day we'll go to the park, the circus, farm and zoo,
but for today let's cuddle with the book, just me and you.

See time will take you far from here, you're growing way too fast.
All I want is Mommy time to make the moments last.
Something we'll remember so that come some far-off day,
you'll know how much I loved you 'cause we took the time to play."

Oh, that's a great idea.

Totally better than what I was planning on doing, so I'm stealing this for a shower I'm hosting.

I'm so jealous. I don't even half to click the link, I know that party. I wish that had been up my gf's alley. So love it.

I know you know that party.

What's awesome is that no one at this shower will know that party... or even who HWTM is.

So I will look like a GENIUS, LOL.

I just printed off her free downloadables as jpgs at Walmart, and they turned out ok.

I made Damon personalize some of them. He's also currently working on the favors. Poor guy.

The only crappy thing is that I have to drag everything down to Austin. Fortunately, I'm flying SW, and they still let you check 2 bags for free.

What are you doing for theme? Give me some ideas I can steal, LOL
