Must have Toy?

I can remember going to oodles of troubles when Hannah was a baby to get a Tickle Me Elmo X, or whatever it was.

Did anyone have to do any toy tracking or go to insane trouble to get a toy this year?

yes, mason wanted dance star mickey.  after i got him, and paid $30 over list price for him, i realized i think i could have talked him into something else.  oh well.  i hope he likes it.  it seems more like a toddler toy, but whatever.

Not at all.  My boys were into Imaginext this year, and if anything I should have waited...prices are dropping like crazy.

Knocking on wood, I've yet to run into an impossible must-have to for either one.

I haven't had any trouble, but most of Hannah's stuff didn't seem like hot toys. I'm kinda glad lol! The zhu zhu business last year was a little crazy.

The only thing that was a tiny bit hard to find here in Michigan was the teacup piggies. I still cannot find clothes. I refuse to pay triple the price on amazon when I know a few days after Christmas I can get them for 8 bucks a piece.

Melissa, check out Zoolert.

For me, this year it was a Lalaloopsy doll. I put it off, not thinking it was going to be a big deal (meanwhile picking up Zoobles, which I thought were going to be impossible to find, and those are available all over the place, lol.) Anyways, thanks to Crystal's post from a few weeks ago, I was able to track it, and I only paid $9 over what it originally was a few weeks ago, and truth be told, I could have probably ffound it for retail if I had constant access to a computer and could have gotten online as soon as I recieved stock information. I was driving myself crazy with it.

Sadly, it's not even something she's asked for recently. I just think she'll really like it, so I did it to myself.

i did end up finding dance star mickey through zoolert also, but i had also already ordered one from ebay because i was afraid i wouldn't find him.  when i saw them available from zoolert, i ordered 3.  i have been able to sell two of them so far for about $15 over what i paid.  so, i figured that makes up the difference that i paid for the first one i bought.  i'm hoping i can sell this last one or i will have to return him to toysrus.

Nope; my kids' main want this year has been Pillow Pets. Easy peasy.

ditto on the pillow pets.

Honestly, I have asked Kiera over and over what she wants (I never had the cool toys, so, without going crazy, I would love to be able to give her the popular toy).

Her response? "I just want to spend time with my family... Especially Portia"

Umm, mommy guilt anyone? BTW - Portia is our dog.

This is the first year we have really had to make a big effort. Usually E does not follow trends but follows her own ideas. That can make it tricky since we often have to find what she envisions in her mind. So far, we have been relatively lucky in finding things until now. She requested Chomper from The Land Before Time. We did find one on Ebay, which was an okay price, but if she starts asking for all the characters, we will be broke.

Thank you. We did, but it didn't have Chomper in it.  Although if she keeps asking for them that would be a good thing to get.  I sometimes think I have the only daughter that loves dinosaurs.  I don't think dinosaurs in general are as popular as they used to be.

Leah, count me in the Lalaloopsy camp.

Victoria wanted the BLUE one.

Fortunately, MIL was in Atlanta on Black Friday and stumbled across one.

As for everything else, it was a matter not of finding it, but finding it on sale.

I seriously think they are adorable.

THis is what happened to me: Hannah says, "Lalaloopsy are cute, I want one." weeks ago. I say, "Okay, whatevs." (essentially, anyways.)... Weeks pass, I say, "Maybe I'll get one, if it's one sale." Cut to 2 days ago, one of my gf's says, "Ava must have this particular Lalaloopsy." I think it's nbd, and go in search of one, only to find that it's the Holy Grail of girl toys. I find one for her daughter, and then go to sleep that night. I toss and turn, worrying that everyone in our school district has a Lalaloopsy in their possession, and that come Christmas morning, Hannah says, "I wish I'd gotten a Lalaloopsy!" and then goes back to school in January to find that she is the only girl without one in her class.

I seriously need to go to therapy. I have massive issues.

No, I hear you. I'm with you.

BTW, I have an extra one of these, if anyone needs one:
http://www.toysrus.com/product/index.jsp?productId=4102312

It was my back up in case we couldn't find the blue one...

Emma was gaga over these dolls this year. luckily i overheard her asking santa for it and the looked everywhere and scored a few (one for her a couple to sell on ebay ;) )

that was the BIG hit here this year.
