I know many of you have had portraits made at PI before.  We got this coupon in the mail, the Holiday Special for $9.95, so I'm wondering if it's about like Wal-Mart, and you end up spending about $200 bucks on the $9.95 special?

Also I went to their website, and it looked like the pictures are ready that day?  Is that right?

we spend on average 100 there and that is for a ton of pics and like 5 poses.

they do have a 9.95 package, but that is one pose and whatever comes in that. I usually add that package to my order for the one shot that I will give the most out of. However, I have a big family.

You do walk out with them that day and also get a photo cd.

Thanks Melissa

That sounds about like what WM does, all except they take about a week to get pics back.

I'm just tired of WM!

yeah, ditto.  i've never walked outta there spending less than $100.  but, you CAN if you want to.  i always at least get the minimum so that i can get the CD.  The $9.95 package doesn't include the Cd.  I think you have to spend around $70 to get it.  Then, at least you can order whatever you want and keep them forever.

My friend actually walked in there the other day and spent $9.95 and walked out with a nice family portrait.

I myself would not be able to that but I was very impressed.

We had xmas pics there a couple years ago, and it seems like the holiday background is always yhe same.

Jennifer, something to think about...

After your pictures are taken (they take a ton, usually in two different rooms, tons of backgrounds and poses), they sit you down at a computer and put all the pictures on a huge flat screen monitor. Then they will go through them one by one and delete some of your least favorites, delete some more, delete some more, etc., until you have all the ones you want to keep. The whole time there is a price on the screen somewhere that tells you how much it would be if you got every pose still left.

This whole process takes a while and can be overwhelming, especially when you have tired kids there that just want to be done and go home. After you select all the pics you want and have decided on your packages, etc., it takes about an hour to get your photos.

What has worked best for us is if I have whichever adult is with me take said child away after the picture taking portion is done so I can sit in peace and decide what pictures I want without any pressure. If at all possible it would be good to take two separate cars and then the other adult can take the kids home, but if not, our PI is in a shopping center and the other adult can at least take the kids out of the store and into another place they might be more entertained for a bit.

Just giving you a heads up so it's the most pleasant experience it can be for you. :)

Thanks for the tips Chickie!  We're going in 2 seperate vehicles anyway, because my day surgery Christmas party is that same night and Kenneth was going to go ahead and take the girls home after pics, so that may work out great.

He may not want to leave me alone to pick out pics though...it may cost us a kidney or something, hahahaha

Now I've just got to decide what Kenneth and I will wear.

The girls are wearing their dresses from Gymboree, they're red sweater dresses with white snowflakes on them and matching tights.

Libby said we need a vibrant color, like dark green, black or something like that.

This morning I remembered Kenneth and I both have a rich, dark teal color sweater (his is a button down shirt), but I'm not sure that would coordinate as well as a dark green...
