I had my ob appt yesterday and they went over the U/S with me.
Im slightly conflicted on if IM still worried or not despite the fact the doc wasnt concerned at all.

First the report just gave an avg. fetal gestational age of a week behind where I was when my u/s was done. It didnt state the two week discrepency between the head and the other parts which was why I was concerned. If the baby was overall small I dont think Id be as worried.

Second she did the weight percentile off of the age measured by the baby which put her at 37 percent. Her last was 25 percent. So the doc said she was growing. Heres my thing, at my last ultrasound four weeks before she wasnt a week behind. So in my eyes shes not. and if I use the weight for where she should be as shes been measuring accurately up until now shes the 14th percentile.

IDK I didnt think the report was written well. I dont have another ultrasound until 37 weeks because they couldnt get me in at 36. They will strip my membranes  at my 37 week appt so I may not even get to the other u/s anyway.

Sending major positive thoughts.  I know it is so hard not to read too much into them, just try to remind yourself that ultrasounds can be an inexact science.  I hope you take comfort in your doctor being ok with the results.  Hang in there momma.

I definitely think the doctor would let you know if there was cause for concern. I know with Owen I looked at the screen too and some of the "week" estimates for various parts differed by a few weeks. The doctor was very reassuring - ultrasounds are not perfect and it is just a guestimate basically. I know it's hard not to worry but I would really try not to overthink it. I am sure she is perfect!

This.

Ultrasounds can be way wrong and the weight estimates can vary by how they are being measured, so as long as it looks like she *is* growing, that's probably why the doctor isn't concerned.

I've known some moms who were given estimates that were 2 pounds heavier than their babies were born at.  My kids' estimates were way off in the other direction, and almost a pound heavier than they weight at birth.

Hang in there, though I know that's not easy when you're worried about your baby!
