I'm thinking we have a crazy early bed time here. It works for us, but I was just curious. We are a pretty strict 7pm bedtime for both boys (summer 8pm). Some nights, like tonight, they are tired so we send them even a little before that.
emily and jake both head to bed around 7:30ish. sometimes it's closer to 8, sometimes it's closer to 7. just depends on the night.
emily could still take a daily nap, but with pm kindy, that just doesn't happen except on the weekends. she's out like a light 5 minutes after i tuck her in. :)
I strive to get Andrew into bed about 8:00. We read until 8:30. Then I try to go lights out. But, between the baby and Steve coming home from work around 7:30, there are days that doesn't happen.
If mine are asleep by 8:30, I call it a success. Sometimes it is 9:15. Sometimes, Rhys falls apart much earlier and I will put him down then.
We dont get home from work, pick up the kids, etc until 6:30ish. So, between dinner, a little down time and getting ready for bed, there isnt much time.
Usually mine are all asleep at 7. But Ive noticed K doesnt go to sleep till like 9 in her bed so Im starting to keep her up till 730 doing something that she just wants to do like a board game or computer game.
She has to be up at 630 anyway to get ready for school because she takes FOREVER to eat get dressed and brush her teeth.
I put 8 to 8:30 but when I got to thinking about it more it is usually 9. More like 8:30 or 9. That will be changing soon. My new job will be starting earlier so they will need to be asleep earlier so they aren't such cranky pants in the morning. Plus I will be getting off earlier so we will have more time to spend together and it won't be as tempting to keep them up later than they should be. :)
We go read books at 8:00 pm and he watches tv, he is usually asleep by 9:00 but if not I let him watch 1 episode of Wow Wow Wubbzy which is on 9-9:30, after that he knows the tv goes off and he usually falls right asleep. I would like him to go to bed earlier but he doesn't have a problem getting up and we all get to spend a little more time together so I don't mind it.
Mason's typical bedtime is 8:30, but John puts him to bed and if there is a really good football game, bedtime might be delayed, LOL. And as Mason has done since he was a baby, he likes to "read" and talk to himself for a long time before falling asleep.
He gets about 9 hours of sleep a night, which is not enough for him, but he usually takes about a 2-hour nap during the day. Which is more than his baby sister.
I aim for both of them to be in be in bed by 7.30 but lately they have been super tired so I've been starting things at 7. If dh was left in charge he would let them both stay up til they crashed on the couch.
eta both kids are always with out fail up at 5am, B just slept til 5.30 and I wanted to celebrate

This is us too. On school nights, we are usually in Ethan's room a little after 8 to read books. Some nights he goes right to sleep but usually I am not that lucky.
8pm here, and that is a struggle. Not because the kids aren't tired, but because of Bill. He is home at 6:30 at the earliest, and by the time we are all finished with dinner (I sit the kids down at 6ish), it is past 7. He is gone before they are up in the mornings (he wakes me when he leaves at about 6:45, then I wake them at about 7:15 or 7:20), so he barely sees them as it is.
I think 7:30/7:45 would be perfect-they are generally wiped out-but Bill just can't stomach it. And if he is in charge of bedtime, it is 8:30 at the earliest. I have to push every night to get them into bed on time.
One of our problems is that Bill thinks missing out on 30 min of sleep is nbd and that i should just relax about it, but it is a big deal for a child, especially when it is every night.
This is a constant source of stress for me-I know it is silly, but I hate waking the kids up, and i really feel that they should be getting to bed earlier. But then ITU Bill's POV too, and I would hate to only see my kids for 30 minutes a day. Blah.

Between 8-8:30 on school nights, sometimes closer to 9 on weekends. They are up for school at 6:30, so they are in bed then. They have pretty much always had this bedtime schedule, even in summer, so luckily it isn't a struggle.
