Christopher loves my laptop and iphone and always asks me to use it so he will be getting a laptop for Christmas.  I want to get him educational computer games, typing games, etc.  I looked and there is so much out there.  I was wondering if you had any recommendations.  Thanks a lot!

We've used the Jump Start series for a long time. The beginning ones are quite good. I wasn't so impressed with 5th and 6th grades, though.

TYSM Alaina, I'll look at those. Nobody else has any recommendations?

Are you looking more for software to install, or online games?

For online, we like Starfall and PBS Kids. At school they are also using Sheppard Software.

we use starfall, pbs and treehouse.ca

I don't have any other suggestions for you. I don't let the kids on the computer very much. I think they get enough screen time and I don't like to share my computer. ;)

We loved the Reader Rabbit and Jump Start games. My DS usually started a new one the summer before he started that grade. Online we use Starfall, BrainPOP and Funschool.

Thank you for all the suggestions.  I am not crazy about screen time either but I would rather he play educational computer games than watch TV.  Plus I won't have to share my cell phone when we are traveling...
