what was the solution you used to get crayon out of your daughter's clothes when it got on the clothes in the dryer.  I have a friend who is in the same crisis and I couldnt remember for the life of me what the solution was that you used.  Many thanks!!!

Let me see if I can dig up the thread I started about it -- I believe it was Apies who found a solution that worked (and tbh, I don't remember what all was in it, but I know it involved Tide, Borax, OxiClean, and maybe one other thing, at least the way I did it!).

I know I soaked everything in a 5-gallon bucket of the stuff overnight (with lots of cold water mixing it all together), and then washed it on cold to see what happened. I think there was maybe *one* thing in the load I had to re-treat to get the rest out.

Off to find the thread. smile

I'm almost positive this is what I used:

2 max doses of HE liquid tide
1/2 lid of liquid Oxiclean
1/4 cup of Borax
1/2 cup of liquid Shout
1/2 cup of vinegar

I wouldn't substitute different detergent, btw. Feedback where I found that tonight said that things like All didn't work as well.

Anyway, tell her to soak the clothes in that stuff overnight, scrub off what she can pre-washing, and try a cold water wash and see how well that does. It was a real lifesaver for us, esp. since I was washing a just-bought batch of clothes with just a couple other things when it happened! Good luck to your friend!
