I'm so excited! I'm FINALLY getting new glasses. I ordered them today, and they should be ready tomorrow.
I don't know if y'all remember but I got new glasses about 3 (maybe 4) years ago, and Holly chewed the stems off of them. So I was wearing my OLD glasses that I got in 1996 or something. Seriously out of style.
I've been paying special attention to other people's glasses lately to see what's in style. I went for some rectangular-ish frames with the stems in the middle. They're navy blue. I can't wait to get them tomorrow!
Do you wear glasses? What is the style? Do you love them/hate them?
I'm not bold enough to try something trendy; I've had people try to get me to go with a funky thick dark frame, but on my face (I like them on other people usually! go figure) I feel like it makes me look about ten years older.
So I stick with thin metallic frames (gold or coppery usually, to blend more with my hair and general coloring) in as small of an oval shape as I can get in my prescription. I like them, though they're probably not doing me any/many favors fashion-wise, lol.
I didn't have time to go get the glasses yesterday so I just went to get them. It's a little family-owned shop. There was a sign on the door that said, "Closed Oct. 2nd. Will reopen on Oct. 4th at 9:30 a.m."

Boo!
I want my new glasses!
that stinks. i totally know the pain of waiting for new glasses.
i am in glasses fulltime. mine arent particularly trendy - they are brown plastic frames though, oval - not very big or heavy (my face cant take the heavy). i think i'd go funkier if i didnt HAVE to wear them all the time - but in my case, since they're literally part of my face, i want them pretty mellow. i have a pic somewhere, let me look.

mel, I really like how you look in glasses. From pictures I can totally see what you mean about them blending with your hair, they totally do.
I am the only one in my family that doesn't wear glasses. DH and Lucas wear glasses and so do my mom, dad, and sister (oh wait my brother doesn't wear them either)

Aww, thanks, Kari!
Is it weird to be one of the only ones in the fam who doesn't wear them? I think most of my family has contacts and/or glasses, with maybe a couple of exceptions.

Not really when I was growing up, but now I feel a little bit left out. It is one more thing that DH and Luc have in common.... they are two peas in a pod. Everything is "Daddy and me" this and "Daddy and me" that
