For those that watch Teen Mom, Amber being investigated for Domestic Violence (you think?!).  I've been super annoyed at the laid back acceptance of her domestic violence, and am glad it is least being investigated now.

I am so glad. Everytime she's on, I cringe a bit. If she takes her anger out on him with her hands (and seems to very often), how do we know her daughter won't end up with the same treatment someday?

Thanks for posting this!

I am so glad!

I mean..Gary is no sweet, doting boyfriend but dang! Does she need to punch him every time she gets angry? She's always throwing around the F bomb and smacking him. Not to mention that she tried to kick him down the stairs!

Honestly! I don't see how she can be deemed a fit mother and why MTV keeps her on the show!

I wonder if its to show that being a teen mom is hard and can put you at your last fuse. Maci sometimes makes it look easy and some might be like awesome I want a baby. But when you watch amber your like holy cow I dont need a kid right nwo.

Because MTV is a pimp.

Ratings whore.

And not to offend, but people watching that crap only encourages it more.

MTV is one of quite a few channels banned in our household

Easy to see why our society is going to hell in a hand basket when we find stuff like this entertaining...

Can u tell I have a strong dislike for pretty much all reality tv? The only one I can stomach is top chef. Cause I love to cook.

It is sort of like watching intervention.  In the beginning they didn't stop people from drunk driving.  I caught it the other day and they did in that episode.  I wonder if they worried about liability.

Muffy- while I agree, I am also planning to use this as a springboard for some programming with my students.  If I can speak their language (which teen mom is), I can get their attention.

I can see you using this as work tool.

It just saddens me that this is what is popular for our young generation. This is what we choose to air for them to use as examples for their lives....

Didn't MTV spawn that Heidi plastic surgery disaster. And snooki etc. Just teaching our young that if they are outrageous, stupid, disrespectful, borderline illegal enough they can be millionaires.

Niiiice...

It's sad that it has taken this long... if Gary had been the one doing that instead of Amber I think the authorities would have been involved a long time ago.

Did you watch the interview with them online about it all? Every time Gary TRIED to speak Amber would cut him off.

I'm really glad to see that.

When they were going at it in the doorway, and she's just popping off at the mouth and swinging, and the baby is literally a foot away, I thought, "Wow, if he doesn't call CPS, surely they'll be coming on their own." None of it was okay (at all) but when he was carrying the tv and she kicked him square in the back, I actually gasped. It made me sick, and she's lucky he didn't get seriously injured.

I don't know anything about Teen Mom, other than there's a girl on there named Farrah from the Omaha area, and she's something of a local celebrity -- the cheapo nail salon in town was very proud that she comes in to get her nails done.

Toto, we are not in Austin anymore, LOL.

Her story is the saddest (at least to me) the father of her child died before his daughter was born. I don't know if he knew about the baby before she died. Until recently on the show she didn't have anything to do with her father's side of the family

He knew about her. They had broken up at some point in time after she got pregnant or right around the time she got pregnant. I don't remember that far back.

Her mother apparently told her to block his number so he couldn't call her anymore.

He died in a car accident at the end of 2008.

Poor Sophia. From what his sister says he loved her.

So it makes me wonder how much of his decision was his and how much was Farrah's mother's decision? She's a rather controlling individual. I don't really care for her. I don't like how up in Farrah's face she is about the baby. She's constantly dragging on Farrah for everything. She shuts her down, doesn't listen to anything she says. It makes me so angry.

Priceless that Amber apologized. Sad that Gary sent her flowers and she was a b*tch to him. Ugh. He needs to find himself a good girl who can treat him the way he deserves.

He's no Prince Charming but every frog deserves a chance.

He's not perfect but neither of us are. He isn't the brightest bulb in the pack but who is?

I saw a guy at Target the other night that was a dead ringer for Gary. I think my eyes bugged out of my head. shocked.gif

My major beef with Amber, outside of that fact that she comes off as a pretty horrible parent, a despicable romantic partner, and a whiny brat (yeah, outside of that, lmao) is that she thinks she's so entitled. Not that everyone doesn't deserve a Perfect 10 type of man in their life, but uhm, to put it bluntly, a person who acts like a 2 at best, is not going to snag a 10. She's a miserable person and it shows, and Gary may not be an amazing man, but he loves her and she takes it for granted because she thinks she should be dating a doctor, living in a mansion, and having a nanny. Or at least that how I think she acts. I think one day a LONG way in the future (she has a TON of growing up to do, I feel bad for Leah.) she'll regret it.

Um, speaking of Amber, her new "catch" is a convicted child molester. So gross. My skin was crawling when he was acting all nonchalant about her having a baby....

I agree with you, Leah.

Grant and I were talking awhile back about it and I told him its almost like she punishes Gary for the pregnancy and the Leah. I think she blames him and places it all on his shoulders. Its his fault she got pregnant, its his fault she isn't living the life she wants, its his fault that she has to be a mother. It appears she's almost bothered by having Gary and her daughter in her life. And she will regret it.

How DISGUSTING about her new beau! When he told her he spent time in prison, she needed to follow through with that. That is not the kind of man I'd want around my daughter! Gross, gross, gross!!!

Is he even allowed around children?!

That's horrible.

I definitely thought it was fishy this week when he was all, "I just met you, but it was the best day of my life, and I'm from jail on work release, I love it that you have a baby." You LOVE it? You think it's fantastic? Not nervous at all? You're in love already? That must've been one heck of a Super Walmart, bud.

Gross. What a pos. She's going to end up losing her kid because she's freaking ignorant.

According to MTV the Chris Amber is dating is NOT the same as the child molester guy... so maybe he is just a giant media whore.

http://remotecontrol.mtv.com/2010/10/08/teen-mom-amber-portwood-did-not-date-a-sex-offender/

"Yesterday afternoon, outrage spread like lightning across the internet that Amber's new boyfriend on the show had a criminal record as a sexual offender--child molestation to be specific. The allegations are untrue. Chris, who appeared in Episode 11 of "Teen Mom," does have a history with the law, but we can state without doubt that he has not faced legal charges for sexual crimes.

The man on the Madison Country Sheriff's Office offenders website that Perez Hilton cited, Christopher Glen Hossman, is not the same Chris who was featured on "Teen Mom" this past Tuesday night. Christopher Glen Hossman is 5'7" and 27 years old; the Chris who took Amber on a date is 5' 10" and just shy of 22.

The moral of this story, fellow bloggers and editors? It's not a scoop if the info is incorrect, so check your facts before you post!"
