Medifast recipe - South of the border chicken soup
Permalink

i found this recipe online a few days ago.  i made it tonight and it was pretty yummy and a nice change.  kristi, erin, amber, etc - if you want to weigh in on how this might fit with medifast, i'd appreciate it.  fyi - i bought all of the ingredients as sodium-free (even the chicken bouillion) so i could control my sodium.

5oz cubed cooked chicken breast
1 cube chicken boullion
1 cup water
1/2 cup stewed diced tomatoes
1/4 cup green pepper
1 tsp diced onion (i did use a little more of this - maybe 1 tablespoon?)
1 clove garlic, minced
1/2 tsp chili powder
1/4 tsp ground cumin
dash ground black pepper

  • saute peppers & onions in 1 tsp olive oil or pam
  • combine water, boullion, diced tomatoes, onions and green pepper and bring to a boil.
  • add chicken, reduce heat, cover and simmer for 10 minutes
  • add all remaining ingredients and enjoy (i let mine sit on low on the stove for about 15 minutes for the flavors to come together)

I get all confused with these recipes. I thought we could only have 3 condiments per day? Are the seasonings condiments? This is where I get all confused.

I am just starting, so I am eager to learn what works.

How is it going for you? What are you eating the most of?

I have no input, I just stick with simple meats and veggies for my lean and green and rarely use my 3 condiments.

I would just go by the scale. If you're still losing at the same pace as you have been then go for it.
