but, since I lost my job I lost my insurance and have not been on birth control. We were using condoms but they suck! We both hate them, lately we have just been doing it for a little while without anything and then he pulls out, but way before he "you know". So what do you think the chances of my getting pregnant this way are? I always thought the pull out method was when they pulled out while they were "you know"?
I can't answer your question but just wanted to let you know that the birth control I get is part of the prescription plan at walmart and is only 9 bucks a month. You'd have to pay for a doctor visit initially but I think that plus the monthly 9 bucks is much cheaper than condoms (in the long run) or an oopsie baby. The thing about the pull out method is it's easy to have an accident. I would definitely not take my chances with that unless you are okay with possibly getting pregnant.
I second this...and tbh, even if you end up going to your doc and it's expensive and sucks (though most will do a payment plan w/you if you tell them you're in dire straits -- and clinics usually have a sliding scale, at least around here, so it shouldn't be so bad), it's still not as expensive as 9 months of maternity care would be, plus the baby him/herself, kwim?

That's exactly what I was going to post! Definitely check out all clinic options, planned parenthood and whatever else might be available. I know how hard it is financially but I think you should make it a priority.
I did call Planned Parenthood and they do not have any funding right now for my area so it would be $250. I think we are just going to have to stick with condoms as much as they suck, pretty much all birth control sucks that I have tried but definetely better than another baby right now!
Jasmine, are you looking for other options, or just curious of the stats?
If you are legit seeking other options, they are out there. Health department, etc. And I have to echoe (echo? sp?) Mel that it is a heck of a lot cheaper than a baby. If planned parenthood has no funding (which sounds fishy to me, their whole purpose is to provide support for low income/no insurance folks...I'm not sure I am understanding the $250 office visit), keep looking or ask what else is available. If not the health department, there may be other non-profit womens centers available. In my area we have non-profits that function much the same of planned parenthood.
I guess if you are looking for stats, I don't have them other than to say you are risking it because one oops is all it takes (and back to high school sex ed, there is sperm in pre-cum). If you are asking the chances because you are hoping for an oops- well, can't help you there. If you are looking for legit other options, seriously look. You are not the only person without insurance needing birth control. And most planned parenthood style options and health departments are certain to prefer to hook you up with birth control than assist you with the costs of bringing a child into this world.

here is some info on the planned parenthood site i found on it: * Of every 100 women whose partners use withdrawal, 4 will become pregnant each year if they always do it correctly. * Of every 100 women whose partners use withdrawal, 27 will become pregnant each year if they don't always do it correctly.
