Christmas- have you started (or finished, lol)

I know, I know- it is early - but my kids are already talking about Christmas :)  And freakishly a few of our stores seem to be saying forget about it to Halloween and Thanksgiving and are already putting out Christmas stuff...odd.

Anyways, we are actually almost done except for the big santa gift.  I'm dragging my feet a bit because last year they had a very last minute change of heart on what they wanted and it took some creative suggestions to get them back to their original santa request that they wanted :)

Right now, the big gift for Koda will be the Imaginext Batman Cave.  For Tristen, he wants the Gordon Thomas-Train and will get a few accessories to go with it (we found the Circo Brand train repair and another station during Target clearence for $4!).  I'm hoping these requests hold steady  (speaking of...if anyone hears of a good sale on the Batcave, please let me know!)

From Grammas, Grampas, and Aunts/Uncles we will be asking for:  Duplo leggo blocks (they JUST got their first set from a thrift store and are LOVING them), batman accessories, ice skates, and maybe snow shoes.

Other stuff in the gift closet include:  Hotwheels and matchbox sets- sort of a hodgepodge of stuff marked WAY down at Target, some transformers we never gave them last Christmas (:bag), Lucky Duck game, Battle Ship, Connect 4, puzzles, a couple of cute kid science kits, and a shit-ton of books (like, maybe mom and dad need to go to book-a-holics amount of books).   I cannot buy anymore toys, no matter how good the deal- I say that now.  Amazon always lures me in....

Whatever is in my closet will also cover Easter baskets since we don't do candy, and might even cover an early birthday party before we move.  I'm thinking of having one with their schoolmates since we might not know anyone where we end up.

The gift closet has to be empty.  We're moving in May, so I'm not packing it :)

So yeah, we are nearly done :)  Insane :)

Anyone else in the insane category?

It should not come as a shock that I'm insane.

I hit up the big Target toy sale in July, so I stocked up on some stuff then. Unfortunately, I didn't go the day I should have, and waited until the weekend, so I didn't get as much as I wanted, and I didn't get anything that I was actually going after, but I did get stuff that Hannah has been after so she'll be happy.

So right now we have some reeeeeally cute Hello Kitty figurines (10 or 12), 5 or so Chixo sets, a jewelry box, the Tech Deck pool, a Wii Karaoke game that I've been waiting forever to come, and I preordered the Babysitting Mama game for the Wii.

The plan was to upgrade her DS this year - she's really wanting a DSi, but now I'm back on the fence since they've come out with the DSxl and are coming out with the 3d version. I don't know. So, shockingly, I don't have that penned down.

There's a private pool behind my mom's neighborhood, and Hannah wants to join their swim team (let's not get into how she won't put her head in the water, and can't swim) so I asked my mom for a pool pass for the family instead of getting us presents.

At anyrate, I am without a plan this year, which is not me at all. (I was the same way with her birthday, unfortunately) and so I'm just buying whatever I like as I see it on sale on SlickDeals, lol.

my parents are done with all the kids except scott and they always get way too much anyway so we only get them maybe one thing each.

Scott is just so hard to get for since he likes everything Raymond likes but age wise the presents are better for Raymond.

We think a baby for christmas is a good gift LOL but IM sure we will come up with something they love as it gets closer.

As for what there getting I really tried to limit it this year.

Kaylen is getting some magnetic dress up princess dolls, a baby that looks like a real newborn, a princess woven throw blanket, a stationary set that has a K on it, and a few other things I  cant recall at the moment.

Raymond it getting those Battan trucks with tools, lincoln logs, a marshmellow gun, some hot wheels, and one or two other things.

Scott well Im totally at a loss as what to even think of for him.

The baby is getting an outfit and a babys first doll.

Haven't started. Don't know what to get.

Henry wants the new Super Mario Brothers for the Wii but I think he's wanting to save up his own money for it.

My mil just asked what the kids wanted when we were at her house yesterday because my fil will be retiring at the end of the year, and they're trying to space out the gift-buying--one every payday or something like that.

I'd like to ask for money to go toward the trip Henry wants to take next summer but when I mentioned something about putting money in the jar yesterday, Henry acted like he didn't care at all.

??

Oh, and Mark told us this morning that he wants another big Transformer or any small transformers that transform--as long as they're Bumblebee.

I don't understand.

It's not Christmas eve. Of course I'm not done.

;)

I'll start in mid December. Otherwise I just get too excited and give them their gifts early.

LOL Sonya-I am that way too!

I haven't even started yet. I really don't know what to get them. Our Target didn't have great deals this time, so i didn't get anything then.

Thing is, my kids have everything. Seriously. They could not possibly need one more thing! Plus, Kate's birthday is Oct. 30th, so I am thinking more about that.

What I DO know is that we are going to try and take it very easy this year on the gifts. They get too much as it is, we have no more room in this house, etc.

Hmmm...Kate needs a bike, but that doesn't seem like a great Christmas gift. She wouldn't be able to use it right away.

I might try and pick up some costumes after Halloween-I think they would like to play dress up with some of those.

IDK-I am kinda drawing a blank. They both are way into Hannah Montana, so maybe a shirt or something else along those lines? There are also a few books I might get them.

Um...yeah. I am really struggling this year so far. But maybe that will be beneficial to my wallet!!

I have bought stocking stuffers for Elizabeth. I bought to pop up play tents from penney's for my niece (pink castle) and nephew (green jeep). The other three niece and nephews are getting visa gift cards from Sams. I have no idea what I am getting my ds because I am still waiting to find out if he will be here or in South Korea.

I will need to share what E wants with grandparents, which right now her list is a Woody, Buzz Lightyear, and schliech mom and baby deer. We are thinking about a scooter, but other than that, have no clue.

I am also searching for teacher gifts, but so far nothing appealing. I have to buy four and I am cheap. lmao.gif

It is my goal to be 90% done by Thanksgiving.

Not done yet, I think we are going low key this year simply because they have way too much stuff as it is. I feel like they never grow out of any of their toys (eg Joe just started picking up B's Little People stuff that he never cared about when it was his, but he plays with it in a completely different way than she does)

I kind of want to get a cheap laptop for them just so that I don't always have to be on edge when they use mine, but really dont want to spend that much. Oh and I'm going to pick up dress up stuff after halloween since they both love dress up role play kind of games.

I bought Kaylin Beast and Princess barbie clothes at the Disney Store because I'd never seen just clothes before.

We're going to Disneyworld in 23 days, so they're not getting much if anything from us this year.

I haven't even given it a thought actually.  I have  5 extra nieces and nephews this year so I guess I better start a little earlier.

Haven't started or even thought about it. Raven won't say anything until it's time to move the santa bear on the calender and then she will bug me for 25 days. LOL I love the idea of a gift closet.

I've started - I started at Target's super clearance - Thanks Corey!

I got lots of stuff for Jake there - here is my problem though - starting early just means I buy that much more for my kids. I keep buying and buying and buying.

We did a layaway last year and it took all the fun out of it.  I like shopping in December.

I haven't even started thinking about it lol. Actually, I just recently did because I have no idea what to get them. They have SO MUCH STUFF. Seriously, when we moved into the new house I got rid of so much and they still have tons. Especially Jillian. Problem is, the house is small and we don't have room for it. So I have no idea.

Ryan will probably get some Nintendo DS games he's been wanting, and I have no idea what else. Jillian probably dress up stuff, makeup etc. I love the idea of taking them on a trip instead but that never works out.

I like the idea of you taking them on a trip, too.
