All I do with my phone books is recycle them. I don't even open them. I'm not a home owner but I would ask people I know first.

I actually use my local "mini" phone book quite a bit for small jobs around the house such as a plumbing fix or appliance repair. For the biig stuff, it is generally word of mouth, with a follow up check online and with the BBB.

it is so ironic you posted this.

fox boston did a story last night where they went around the city and asked people when the last time they picked up a phone book was.

i think everyone, but 1 or 2 people said they recycle it as soon as the phone company drops it off.biggrin
