there is a sale starting next week at my grocery store that will make hamburger helper free. we don't eat it, but for every 10 i "buy" i would get 50 boxtops so i was thinking of just getting a bunch for the food pantry to get the boxtops.

but then i was thinking the people going to the food pantry prob. aren't buying a ton of hamburger/chicken at like 4.99/lb so maybe i should just hand it off to one of dave's single friends. hmmm...

hamburger is cheap.

it's like 5/lb regular price at my store...

ground beef?

wtf?

here you can get low quality for $1.99 and something like 93% lean is $2.99!

I'm done with my list of things to do today. I was going to hang out here for a while, but after catching up, I see it's now dinner time. BBL

Sara look on your towns website

I actually like Hamburger Helper but the sodium content is off the hook so I dont make it much anymore.

Our faves were the mexican ones - Cheesy Enchilada and Crunchy Taco. I never used the the powdered cheese sauce though I always used real shredded cheese.

we're going to noodles & co for the best mac n cheese ever. yum. :)

I had that once when I was in the us a few weeks ago.

I had meatballs on it - super yummy!

Was very delish - but they spooned the sacs on top and threw some cheese on it and by the time I got home, half the noodles gasps no sauce and by the time I tried to stir it it got all s rewed up with the melted cheese.

So I think I got a bit screwed on the whole experience cause I heard it was so yummy.

U can tell I LOVE Mac n cheese, huh?

(in a does have a kick ass recipe too...)

Seriously. If ground beef was that much we would starve.

Even at our local market which is known for it's meat (the sign says "the most talked about meat in town" LMAO) it is $2+ per pound depending on fat content.

The never-ending saga of jet lag hell...

Last night, night 2 home, (night 1 I was up 11-1 w/ lala, 1:30-3:30 w/ cate) cate went down at 8, and was up 11-3am. And She hardly napped during the day so that was a total surprise to me.

Tonight cate again hardly napped and went down at 9:15. Cecile spent night at adelaides house.

I went to bed at 11.

Midnight the phone rings. WTF. It's Cecile crying, she can't get to sleep.

Talk to her 10 min and hang up.

Almost get to sleep.

12:55 phone rings. I know who it is and Im not happy.

Cecile wants me to get her. (it's 20 min away) I say yes. Cate starts crying. Bert says "WTF don't get her she's a big girl she has icarly on her iPhone she can watch"

She calls back so he goes to get her and I stay w cate who is now awake.

It's Now 1:45 am . Cecile bert and cate are all asleep. and I am totally awake.

Damnit.

I might just crawl downstairs and pour myself a glass if wine. *sigh*

Robin- I have a chicken spaghetti recipe you might like.

In a nutshell - a rotisserie chicken that has been skinned and deboned and chopped up. Cooked spaghetti. Make a roux (melted butter and flour). Add warm chicken stock. Stir till thick. Add half n half cream to make the sauce. Sautee some mushrooms, onions, celery in butter. Mix all together in a casserole. Top with breadcrumbs and bake.

If u like I can give the exact recipe.
