Just to clarify, anytime I say "butter" (except in baking), I'm actually referring to Country Crock margarine.

In case that makes it less gross to some of you people.

I'm wondering too. I use I can't believe it's not butter light. And very little - I didn't want the extra calories of PB on both sides. This tangent has me laughing. giggle.gif

yeah right...

well i decided to slap the sandwich together in the AM but get everything prepped the night before. now that i have to make her lunch i'm just gonna make mine so it'll be easier to get it together that way.

c can have hot meals. they tell me they will heat up food. idk how practical that will be, though. my work schedule is expected to change in the very near future and i will also have to actually make dinner and so leftovers might work out on occasion.

in case i haven't made it evident in various posts i do not do a lot of meal prepping around here.

we eat a lot of cereal.

and i buy a .50 pb&j in the hosp cafeteria for *my* lunch on the days i work.

You guys are so lucky you can send PB to school.

Our pre-school is PB free.

Sarah doesn't even like it anymore since she could rarely have it she grew not to like it. :(

She also got sick of turkey sandwiches since that's all I could ever send.

Now we're completely limited.

Booooooooooo!

is that because of allergies?  i am curious as to what you can bring, sounds like you are as limited as us.  we can pack:

a sandwich (nutella, ham, turkey, cheese, etc)  they dont have anything like lunchables here, but if they did they would not be allowed

fruit compote (different flavored applesauces)

fresh fruit of any kind

yoghurts

sliced vegetables (carrot sticks etc.)

cold salads

milk or water to drink

Yes it's because of the kids with allergies.

When Jack was there they started this and I asked if I could bring almond butter and jelly sandwiches and that was fine.

Now they don't want any kind of nut butter.

I guess because it's too hard for them to police it.

We can send anything else we want though.

And BTW. My mom used to, on occasion, make us peanut butter, butter and brown sugar sandwiches.

OMG heaven.

And a heart attack on a plate.

Hmmm, I wonder why I have weight issues.

My mom used to mix PB and syrup together and dip toast in it. Yummy. Her mom used to do it back in the days with PB and molasses (yuck!) It is so good though.

no, it doesn't make it any less gross to me, haha

i only put pb on one slice of bread and jelly on the other

or pile the jelly on top of the peanut butter and leave the other side plain

I dont worry about sending K with PBandJ for lunch since 4 out of 5 days a week, that is what she gets for breakfast on the way out the door :bag

In case anyone is counting Im a no vote for PBJ and Butter
But waffles with peanutbutter and honey are my all time favorite breakfsat as a kid. Okay, now too.
