Has anyone here signed up for the Target text messages? I just wonder if they are worth it. I have free texting so I am tempted.

gm. I have a decent amont to do today. K has her eye appt. and I have to drop off the preschool form at the peds office to be signed.

Scott woke up with white bumps (bites?) on his legs. They dont look like bedbug bites because they arent red at all just either a little paler or same color as his skin. So today I have to wash his bedding in hot water. He doesnt seemed bothered by it at all though.

Good morning!

Could the bumps be from dry skin or something he came in contact with outside?

i can't believe how early everyone else's kids start school.

i also can't believe how many k programs are full day.

there are 8 elementary schools in my town and each has 3-4 half day k classes...they don't have the staff or space to make all the k kids go full day.

idt connor could handle full day quite yet anyways, so that is fine by me.

You have 8 elemantary schools?!?!?!?!

My old town had 2 and when we moved 4 years ago did not have all day because they didnt have the room. They just restrusctured the entire system and have full day now.

My current town just phased in full day over the last 2-3 years. We only have 3 elementary schools though so either your schools are really small oryour town is enourmous compared to mine LOL

I'm not sure exactly how many elementary schools we have in our town. The whole county school system has a gazillion but they're in other suburbs, not just where I live.

In Bartlett, we have: Bon Lin, Ellendale, Barret's Chapel, Arlington, Altruria, Bartlett, Oak, Rivercrest, Lakeland, plus a new one that I don't know the name--Donelson. They vary greatly in how many classes in each grade though. Our school, Oak, has 5 Kindergarten classes, I think--20 or less kids in each. Rivercrest has 11 Kindergarten classes.

So 10 elementary schools.

Hello??

Mark is giving me a break from playing with him.

In a little while, we're going to "the square McDonald's with the playground".

We ate lunch there yesterday with my mom but today we're meeting other Kindergarteners who don't go back to school until Monday.

Mark was pretending to be a doctor, and he:

-X-rayed my knee with some large X puzzle pieces that had a picture of an X-ray of a hand on them.

-removed my tonsils with Play-doh scissors

-listened to lots of breaths with a stethoscope

-found a lollipop in my belly-button and in my ear (just like our ped)

Before all the x-rays and surgery, we were playing "cars".

We got out Mark's big foam puzzle piece road map, put it together, then Mark put a giant pink squishy brain in the middle of the road. Next he put most of his cars (which is about 50) on the road in a gridlock fashion so there would be "traffic". Then he pretended to direct the traffic. Only two cars could get around the giant brain. So then we had a bunch of irate drivers knocking each others' cars over, then a tornado came through the whole town.

Fun stuff.

Oh, AND I helped Mark decorate a 9 x 9 cake.

Our church picnic is this evening, and this year they're having the second annual Cake Contest.

I haven't decided if I'm entering it yet. I came in second place last year with Glen's Aunt Lisa's Apricot Nectar Cake.

After playing at McD's, we're going to Tiny Tot skate with the other Kindergarteners.

Mark was not happy with his failed attempts at skating the last time we went but he said he'd give it another try.

I'm going to go get out of my pajamas and make myself look presentable.

I want to see new posts when I get back.

K? Thanks.

Wow Robin you and Mark have had a pretty fun day.

So far I have done nothing and Lucas has gone back and forth between the living room and his room.

In a few minutes I am going to get us dressed, spray down the bathroom and go run errands while the bleach soaks in where I need it too.

We are going to the bank and to get a bagel for lunch.

Robin it sounds like you are having a fun day. I, on the other hand, have done some exciting things like dishes and clean the cat boxes. Try not to be jealous. Seriously, I am impressed with how you can play with your kids. I do once in awhile, but have a hard time doing it for any length of time.

I'm not sure what I'm making for dinner yet. I have left overs from last night to have as a side dish. Maybe I will make chicken tenders. I'm going to take them out of the freezer

After we run out I need do the bathroom, do a load of laundry, run and empty the dishwasher, vacuum, and clean part of Lucas's room out.

I should also dust the living room. I think I'm going to get Lucas and Evie to do that part LOL.

I have decided it's her father's job to do the pretend gig.  I am with Corey on doing arts and crafts but I get an F for participation.  I do listen to my kid though.  She wants to have a halloween party, so I am doing one for her.  Granted it will be more like a halloween craft party, but I am good with that. biggrin

That sounds fun.

I think I am totally useless on fun things this year.  Good thing I have Joe to pick up my slack.
