Going to some garage sales this a.m. with my parents.

Maybe.

I keep hearing rain sounds but I'm looking out the window and don't see rain.

Odd.

Home now.

Major garage sale purchases:

-Grimm's Fairy Tales book
-"How to Draw Animals" book

Grand Total - $1.10

Then I went to Kroger and got paper towels and a loaf of bread.

Stopped at doughnut store on the way home.

No one here still?

. . .

Guess I'll go sort some laundry.

I can't do any laundry yet because I'm washing Henry's shirt he tie-dyed yesterday.

Then I'll wash Mark's.

I'm doing them separately because Mark put purple on his shirt.

Last week, I washed all the tie-dye shirts together, and they ALL turned pink because some of them had a dark wine color on them.

Mark's first day of K is Tuesday.

He didn't get Miss Teacher (that Henry had), but I'm thinking that's probably best.

Miss Teacher is WONDERFUL with kids who have "ISSUES"--kids who love doorstops, can't stand half-way open doors, suck their sleeves, etc.

Mark needs a teacher who will help him learn his letters better so he can start reading.

I think he got the best one for that.

I can't decide if I'm going to be great on Tuesday or a basketcase.

Guess I'll find out soon enough.

Im glad you finally found out Marks teacher.

We pretty much decided where were sending Raym for preschool.

I loved the last two places we toured but the one we chose had a bigger room for his age group. The other seemed cramped. But the one we chose is also 30 dollars a week more which I cant fathom why.

GM

I am officially 3 children short for a week. They'll be gone until next Saturday afternoon.

I just remembered that dh didn't mow the lawn before he left. I guess that means I'm going to have to do it. We're supposed to take turns but he's only done it twice this whole summer.

I need to go grocery shopping this morning. But I have to let my mind start functioning first. I am NOT a morning person.

I love ER stories.

Raven's school has automatic flusher. She won't use a toilet with it unless I cover up the sensor. I'm thinking about not saying anything to the teacher and see what happens. I don't expect someone to cover and Raven might surprise me. She can't be the only 3-6 year old that has this issue.

Went to open house last night and Raven got a teacher she already knows. I was so happy since it takes weeks for Raven to warm up to someone(if she does at all) and this will make her more comfortable. I don't think it is a speech thing anymore(actually I never did) but personality.

Robin, I don't know who Henry has for a teacher. Did you find out about Mark's teacher?

LL, 5 is stupid and my guess insanely jealous and sulking because you moved on and are happy. He wants you to wallow in his misery. I hope he gets over his juvenile antics soon.

Irina, are you settled in again?

Yes, we are in NC.  Sometimes I miss working FT but then I remind myself how miserable I was in DC and that feeling quickly goes away :)  We are taking one day at a time, I have applied for a job here and there but I am not actively looking right now.

Tab, good to hear that you are dating and you are happy with the guy.

Jen, I am glad that your back is better

Robin, I hope Mark's first day of school goes well for YOU.

We did some errands this morning and now I am doing some editing work at home, I am waiting for the sun to set a little bit so we can swim in the pool, I HATE wearing sunscreen and Christopher does too so we both don't have a problem waiting :D

Christopher starts summer camp at the Art Gallery next week, I think I am more excited than he is about it biggrin
It's a fun place, they do lots of arts and crafts.  I am not a very "arts and crafts" type of person so I feel good about signing him up for that camp.

Henry's friend Chad and his brother are here.

They're driving Glen batty.

I'm thisclose to telling them to leave just because the kids can't settle down.

Well, things have settled a bit.

The kids are playing on the Wii, and Mark is in the backyard sitting in a large bucket of water.

I got a splinter right when we were leaving the pool yesterday--on my palm. Ouch!

It's my right hand; the same one that I sprained my wrist/thumb the other day.

I'm falling apart.

My dad dug most of the splinter out but I think there's still a tiny bit in there.

It's really sore.
