Do kids need a 5 year check up?

Hmm, MOTY here. It occurs to me I never made an appt. for K.

I saw Robin's post about an eye exam. My friend just found out her 5 yr old is farsighted. She feels bad she was alsys really annoyed he would not identify letters she knew he knew.

Well, apparantly, he couldnt tell the dif between an R and a B on paper in front of him cause he couldnt see it.

Here a physical is required to start K (and 7th grade and 11th grade)

I NEED to remember to bring them to work with me tomorrow to mail.

Hmm, good thinking on the screening. Kiera's is set for Wed. the 18th. It is also where they test them and make sure they dont get all the smart kids in one class and the not as smart kids in the other. I have a super smart, but lazy and stubborn kid. Who knows which she will decide to be that day?

We registered a couple months ago and had to have their shot records, but, K was still 4 at the time.

I have a call into the ped. now.  I bet it will be very dificult to get an appt. at this late date.  oops.

Busing is free and you walk if you live within a mile of school.

I just got back from school with the boys.  Marcos loved his teacher which is good because he will "try" to behave.
Diego was happy with his schedule and Manuel is looking forward to "graduation year". He is in 8th grade and they do a graduation ceremony to simbolize their entrance to high school.

they both did great

Katelyn weighs 12 lbs 5 oz, she's 11 weeks old. she got 3 shots and the drink for rotavirus, poor thing :(

Kevin weighs 33.4 lbs and is 38.75 in tall, he's 3.5 yrs old. he got 2 shots and didn't even flinch, my tough little guy! :)

Kyle is getting the royal treatment today. My sister is visiting and took him out for some fun.

I'm so glad, he really deserves some 1 on 1 time. They went to Toys R Us to spend his $25 gift card, and then she took him for sushi for lunch. She said he ate a ton, kid loves sushi!

Then she texted me and said they were at a movie.

He gets to go to the doc tomorrow for his well checkup. I hope he doesn't need any shots.

oh, Kyle starts school on the 17th

we live only a half mile from the school, so we'll walk when we can

Kevin will be starting on the 30th - preK Montessori program at the same school

they asked if we wanted the boys in the same class, and we said no. they need some time apart, I think.

that is one crazy school list, April!

ours isn't nearly that much, and we have the option of giving the teacher $25 so they can do the shopping, which is what they prefer. nice.

I think there's a meet and greet bbq at the school next thursday

school runs from 9am - 4pm (seems like a really long day), and then half-day mornings on Wednesdays

I'm not sure what Katelyn and I will do with ourselves!

some of you may have seen my FB status yesterday

I scored 10 pairs of excellent used jeans for Kyle on Craigslist for $10

they were all old navy, gap and levi's brands

I was so excited. Then last night I was able to get a pink Bumbo for baby girl for only $15.

thing looks practically brand new. yay!

yup, I keep thinking one of these days we will head up to Santa Fe and go to their children's museum, etc.  Um, first it will require me getting a day off.

Jolynn, its good to hear from you! Sounds like all the kids are doing great. how is PT going?

Kiera's school friends are informally headed to the Chick Fil-A on Paseo this eve at 5:15. We will probably get there at about 5:45 if you are interested in an outing....

I really hope it goes well for you April!

Have you talked to Janelle? Is she helping you with info from previous years?  Just curious....
