Our three year olds...

Time for a check in!

This is pretty close to the big baby boom of 2007 birthday season. I seriously can't believe it has been three years since we were all pregnant together again.

How are your 3 (or almost 3) yr olds doing?

Are they going to preschool this year?

Are they doing any sports?

Are they talking? Riding bikes? Dancing? Singing?

What toys do they love? Are they obsessed with anything?

Are they good? Bad? ;)

Pictures?

Austin is doing good, everything is about cars and crashing cars together. He doesn't care much for anything else. He is always carrying them around with him.

Are they going to preschool this year?

We are hoping to be able to swing preschool for Austin this fall. I am going to get him into speech therapy first though to see if he benefits from that and then re evaluate. : )

Are they doing any sports?

LOL Nope. He kicks the soccer ball around in the yard and he'll throw and catch a ball, but thats as far as he gets with sports.

Are they talking? Riding bikes? Dancing? Singing?

He isn't talking clearly at this point. I'm thinking its his tongue that he is having trouble figuring out how to "use" to make noises. He can ride a tricycle though quite well. And he loves to dance...when he sees someone dancing or hears music he gets this big grin on his face. : )

What toys do they love? Are they obsessed with anything?

Cars, cars, cars. Anything that rolls is his favorite.

Are they good? Bad? ;)

He is a handful, especially with his speech being "behind" but for the most part he is the most loving little boy. He loves sitting with me and he'll put his arm around me. So stinkin cute. I think once Aubrey starts school in 3 weeks, he is going to do so well being here with me at home and doing speech therapy through the school and through the pediatricians referral place.

Pictures?

Hmmmm I do have pics, but they are on my other computer so I will upload them in a different post. :)

Josie's a joy (mostly). She's a freaking riot and her comic timing is outrageous. She's much loved by her daycare family (all the rooms know and love her) which is a good thing because she's not always the best behaved kid there. lol.

Are they going to preschool this year?

Josie will be staying at daycare. She's in the "romper room" - 2 1/2 - 3 1/2 and will likely be there until next August. She loves it. It will be a weird year for her since Charlie has always been there with her. She's pretty excited about being a big girl.

Are they doing any sports?

No sports right now but she really wants to do dancing (tap dancing? How does she know about tap dancing???). We may do swimming at some point this year too. She's actually really gifted at soccer (just playing around in the backyard). She has a dead on kick and is really co-ordinated with the ball. We'll put her in next summer if she's interested.

Are they talking? Riding bikes? Dancing? Singing?

Talking talking talking. No off button on this one. If she's awake, she's talking. And she sounds like a harmonica. Hilariously high pitched. Hilarious if you aren't in a car with her for 3 hours. She's pretty clear now and says the most outrageous things. NON-STOP.

She has a pedal-less bike and she's absolutely awesome on it. If you haven't gotten a bike for your little one yet, you should get one of these. She'll be riding an two-wheeler long before charlie (no training wheels).

She's a dancing fool. Her favorite thing to do is to "shake my booooooooty". We're in big trouble with this one. Seriously.

She loves to sing. she and charlie sing all the laurie berkner songs and they love K'naan's waving flag song.

What toys do they love? Are they obsessed with anything?

she's not obsessed with anything. She's terribly afraid of all animals (stuffed, real, imaginary, etc). Her nemesises in life are bears. She has a major fear/hate on for bears. and for some reason, everyone feels the need to tell us all about their recent bear sightings. it's fun.

Are they good? Bad? ;)

She's an interesting mix of good and bad. She's 3. She can be a total brute (especially to charlie) and she's as saucy ;) as all get out. But, if she gets in trouble, she's easy to calm down (unlike her brother).

How are your 3 (or almost 3) yr olds doing?  C is doing pretty good this week ;) - this summer has been tough. she's majorly tantrummy and hasnt been all that well behaved lately - but better the past few days.

Are they going to preschool this year? YES 5 mornings a week :)

Are they doing any sports? she's going to try a ballet class on thurs actually.

Are they talking? Riding bikes? Dancing? Singing?  talking and singing and dancing like crazy -no riding yet. she pushes along with her feet.

What toys do they love? Are they obsessed with anything? she's into whatever R is into basically. she's way into hello kitty (like R) but she's not as obsessed with stuff as R was at this age - i think the 2nd kid isnt usually as obsessed.

Are they good? Bad? ;)  pass. biggrin.gif

no really, she's a great little kid - super loving, super bright. but she's a handful and always has been. its part of her spunk - but i'm looking forward to some separation in the fall - i think we both need it.

How are your 3 (or almost 3) yr olds doing? Lance is amazing. smile I am so head over heels for this little boy!

Are they going to preschool this year? nope, but hopefully the next year

Are they doing any sports? not yet

Are they talking? Riding bikes? Dancing? Singing? He does talk, not especially well, but well enough. No bike riding, but omg, this kid loves music! He loves to pick a few songs for me to play on my iTouch for him at bedtime, and his current fave is a Celtic Woman song ("Mo Ghile Mear") with lots of drums. wink.gif He's learning the words, even the non-English parts! He does like to dance, too.

What toys do they love? Are they obsessed with anything? Cars! Cars and trucks...he also is getting more into drawing like Holly lately and starting to 'draw' certain letters. Today he drew a picture for me and there was a big fat "M" on top because "dat your letter, Mommy!"

Are they good? Bad? ;) He is *definitely* a little troublemaker (and then always immediately starts to cry and shriek "I sorry, Mommy!" if I speak crossly to him at all, poor little dude!) but he's awesome too. Still a real snuggler. smile

Time for a check in!

This is pretty close to the big baby boom of 2007 birthday season. I seriously can't believe it has been three years since we were all pregnant together again.

How are your 3 (or almost 3) yr olds doing?
Kevin's birthday was on Feb 18th, so he's 3 and a half now.  He is going great!

Are they going to preschool this year?
Yes, he will be starting preK in a Montessori program at the same school Kyle is going to.  His first day will be Aug 30th.

Are they doing any sports?
No sports yet.  I was hoping to get him in to something this summer, but a lot of the parks and rec programs here were for kids 4 and older.  I missed the deadline for the couple of classes he could have done.  I'd like to get him in to soccer when I can.

Are they talking? Riding bikes? Dancing? Singing?
Kevin's our little talker and is pretty much non-stop.  He speaks very well.  We just bought him a bike that he's been on a few times now, and he's taken to it very well.  Dancing - yes, he likes to dance and minic others.  Check out this video of him with his cousin, Alana: http://shiawee.blogspot.com/2010/07/river-dance.html  Singing - not so much, though he likes to sing to Katelyn when she's not happy. heart.gif

What toys do they love? Are they obsessed with anything?
Trains, especially GeoTrax.  Kevin has a ton and is always asking for more.  He also enjoys cars, dinosaurs, dragons, puzzles, games and playing on the computer.  He has a pretty creative imagination and can keep himself busy for long periods of time.

Are they good? Bad? ;)
He's a good kid but has his mean stubborn streaks from time to time, mostly when he's really tired.  He's quick to hit Kyle when he gets upset.  He's also quite silly and likes to make us laugh, and is quite the smarty pants.  Very energetic and always busy, busy, busy.

We're still working on mastering the potty, but he's been doing great the past few weeks.

after his uncle gave him a buzz cut - he loves his new hair style :)
