april, i have found a few things at 75% off already.

the stride to ride lion was $10ish from $41.xx

i got a penguin bowling set (soft penguin stuffed animals with a soft bowling ball) for i think 4.74 down from 20.xx

a ni hao kai lan set for like 3.74

baby blocks for 4.98

big confetti filled bouncy balls for 1.24

that was all that was 75% off at my store as of friday night, but everything left the last week of july in the past has been marked down all at once the last thursday.

even if the stickers reflect 30% bring the item to a scanner and beep it. sometimes (alot of the times) they don't re sticker everything they just change the price in the system for that sku number.

when you go this week walk through the toy aisle and make a list of what you would want when it goes down. then when it gets marked down you can just grab and go (because once word gets out it can get kinda busy).

this is also the time i fill up my bday box in the attic--i buy tons of extra toys and just dole them out as the kids get invited to stuff.

I am bummed tonight. It seems my girl has developed another tick. She used to do heavy blinking, but it has been gone for awhile now. Today she started doing a different one, kind of taking a breath and holding it for a few seconds and it was quite obvious. It also is the same time of year she started doing it last year. I wonder if it has to do with the lack of routine in summer? Either way it makes me want to cry. It is really hard to do anything to help a tick.

What's the deal with the juice boxes? She doesn't know but she is going to find out and let me know. :) (About the toys.)

often, the target brand juice boxes for the snack bar get shelved with the packages of juice boxes in the grocery section.

the difference is that the ones for the snack bar don't have a cardboard wrap around them (it's between the plastic and the juice boxes).

long story short, they ring up 59c, the price of 1 of those juice boxes at the snack bar.

sometimes i walk out with 4 or 5 packs of them; sometimes (like the past few weeks) i don't find any.

dammit target. i need some lazy slackers stocking the shelves please.

Love that! One time I wanted to buy a particular hand cream but could only find the barely used sample. I was going to ask to buy it for a discount but when I rang it up it came up as a sample and was priced at 1 cent! I took it to buy it and the cashier didn't even notice so I got it for a penny. Suh-weet!

The doctor said the tick is caused most likely from anxiety and the teachers were kind of following our lead on it. We know from the past that making sure she gets enough sleep makes a big difference, but I also think having a routine helps her feel less anxious. She does okay with change if it's very short term, but when there is change for an extended period of time she has more trouble coping. I am guessing that summer time is fun for her, but it lacks the comfort of a routine.

My nephew had an issue like this when he was younger (he is 16 now). They thought he might have tourettes (sp?) and noticed that stress made it worse. He hasn't had any issues since he was much younger.  I hope the same happens for your sweetie pie.

I am hoping for that too.  Last year we did some extensive testing and did find out that although it unusual this young, it's most likely a tick.  They ruled out tourettes and apsergers and some other things.  She is hpyer extensive or hpyer moblic which has caused her to have some motor issues, but we are working on catching her up.  She does not always show it because she internalizes, but she is a pretty sensitive kid.  For some reason right now she is always afraid we are going to leave her.  She is fine going to swim camp or anything else, so I am not sure why she worries about it.

So how well does target clean up? Do people ever hide things in the wrong part of the store and then come back?

re toy clearance at target. i found the computer cool school marked down 50% off and I went ahead and gave it to ivy - she LOVES it! so, it is well worth the money but she also doesn't have much experience w/ the computer so it was good for her. if your kid has more experience with the computer, it is probably not a good deal.

i have never seen that happen at my store.

it wouldn't work if it was the last of something anyways b/c they need to scan the sku to adjust the price.

Maybe we just have sloppy people cleaning up our store.  It just seems like I find quite a bit of misplaced things there.  I would never succeed at that because I would have to remember where I put something.  My memory slots are pretty full these days. I just thought maybe that's why people were doing that.
