love everything aout it. esp your outdoor furniture.
one more question about fence/safety... does the pool have a cover? the fence keeps the neighborhood kids out, but what secures it from a child visiting in your home going outside and falling in?
(you can tell i am a worry wart to the extreme LOL!)
Megan, the pool won't be covered until the fall. And then we will have a loop lock cover installed, which technically is strong enough to keep out an elephant, lol. But for now, there is nothing stopping someone from walking out of my house and into the pool.
My entire yard is fenced, but not the pool area specifically. That is one of the main reasons we waited until Natalie was older before even considering a pool. We may actually put an alarm on my family room door that leads to the yard, and use it when there is no chance of being out in the pool, but that becomes problematic. I have no good solutions other than keeping good tabs on little kids that may get curious and wander out on their own. The rule of the house is that no one is allowed in the yard without an adult, including my own kids. And everyone seems very willing to obey. Actually, I have become a bit of a monster about the rules, which also include no diving head first, no dunking, and no running. I have already kicked a few kids out for not listening. My hope is that they all learn to fear me, lol.

And one more thing...we upped the umbrella policy on our homeowners insurance quite substantially just in case the unthinkable were to happen. I know that sounds awful, but we wanted to make sure all bases were covered.

Sarah can open them now as of a couple of months ago but it's nice to keep visiting little kids from going out in the backyard.
A lot of our friends have taken their pool fences out now that the kids are getting older.
I understand, it looks nicer and they just use the "village to raise a kid" rule when people come over and everybody watches out for the little kids in the pool.
