The time of year where I come up with some ridiculously cute toy for Hannah's birthday, put it off to the last minute, and then find out that it's hard to find, at least locally.
Hannah really loves the little Strawberry Shortcake figures that are similar to Polly Pockets. I am looking for Blueberry Muffin, Orange Blossom, and Plum Pudding in single packs. (Some come in a set with Strawberry Shortcake, but we already have a ton of her, lol.) They have a few different kinds, and I don't really care which ones they are as far as the ones the come in a little plastic purse, or with the braid, I'm just really after them, and trying to get them at retail cost (which is between $4-6 a piece.)
So, if anyone finds these and are willing to send them to me, I would be forever thankful. There are some on Ebay, but I really don't want to pay 3x the price plus shipping for something so freaking tiny unless I absolutely have to.
I realize that I am not being helpful at all but I had a Blueberry Muffin doll--app. 6 - 8 inches tall or so--when I was a kid. I super-loved that thing. It smelled so good. I kept it in my desk drawer until I went to college.
Robin, one of my GFs has her strawberry shortcake dollbaby from when she was little, and it still smells, and it's at least 27 years old. I *wish* I had my stuff! I have all my cabbage patch dolls from when I was a baby, which Hannah thinks are lame, and of course we didn't keep any of the stuff from my youth that ended up coming back and being something Hannah liked. Just my luck. I'm not holding out any hope of any of this stuff still smelling in a year, much less a few decades (not that I'm planning on holding on to them, necessarily, lol). I wish they still made toys like they used to!
