Just interested to know. I am super paranoid about getting in a car accident with Dominic so I am keeping him in a 5 point harness as long as possible. Right now he is 36 pounds and in the Graco Nautilus which harnesses to 65 pounds and the rate he is going gaining weight he will probably be harnessed until he is 10! LOL. My friend has a 3 year old and I saw in a picture on his facebook page that she is already in a booster with just the seatbelt.
We switched Juliette to belt positioning boosters last month. She is 51 lbs, and I read that the LATCH on our 5 pt harness seat is only approved up to 40 lbs (even though the seat is supposed to be to 60 lbs). I know we could have fastened the seat in with the belt, but she is so big in that thing, that we figured the move was appropriate. It fits her beautifully (and is SO much easier to transfer to other cars!)
So quick FYI for those who are still in harnesses and are over 40 lbs, double check the limit on LATCH (if you use it).
Raven is 45 lbs and I want to say 43 in. but I'm not positive on the height. She is harnessed in a nautilus and will be until she reaches the maximum on that seat. I won't use a belt w/booster until I have no choice.
Owen is 35 lbs and harnessed in a Graco Nautlius in the van.
He has made a few trips only 5 min or less in a Graco Turbo booster high back in John's truck. But we are usually all in the van so he is always in his Nauti.
Hmmm, I should weigh Kiera. I think she is about 35-40 lbs and still on the small side. I caved and she is in a booster but it fits across her shoulder the way it should. Rhys is in her nautilus.
