i love my job. have I mentioned that?

I'm so so so happy I made the change.

I've never worked anywhere where:
1. you can look around and not see one person who you think "why the hell did they hire you?" (which can also make you think "hell, what if I'm that one person", lmao)

2. they reward you for doing a good job - I got a certification (a definitely benefit to the company) and they gave me a $1000.

3. they value family - we have two big family events this summer - one an all day music fest at the CEO's farm and the second a family weekend at a resort a few hours away. LOVE!

4. they walk the walk and talk the talk - they are big believers in changing our world - they have a $1000 bonus for buying a hybred car - they only buy fair trade coffee for the offices (even though it costs them twice as much). They give us a charity day each year - you get paid to do something for charity. Tons more. I thought it was just recruiting talk but they are serious about it.

SO happy. What a difference it makes in your life to be happy and proud of your employer.

do they need a manager with production/distribution experience and a degree? dan needs a new job biggrin

If so, I have a beautiful waterfront house to show you!

 after a year. :)

I'd look in Toronto or Calgary. Both big cities with lots of jobs and great healthcare. And 1 year mat leaves (parental leaves really - you could have more beautiful babies and Dan could stay home too!)

Canada's great! No Target's though. It was almost a deal breaker for me.

Oh, and university is a lot cheaper - Jake is getting to that age. ~$5K for a great school.

Come on!

ditto juni.

wtf with a list like that with sayings that people who would SEE the list said?

um, passive aggressive much?

robin, i vote you type up her list and blow it up into a poster-sized picture and have it framed. then hang it in her family room with a bow on the corner while she's gone one day.

did you really just suggest i should have MORE kids? does that new job provide the crack you've obviously been smoking?!?!?? no.more.kids. NONE!

5k for college? if only i could get jake to really give a shit about school. you know that little punk may just pull out a B average for the sememster (thereby allowing him to stay at his preferred school)?? He was tanking (low C's - low D's) several of his classes and get B+s on the finals with little to NO studying.

ok, end rant.....

I would but I haven't actually done any work for him the past two weeks.

He usually pays me anyway but I'm not asking for it if I didn't really earn it.

Now that's funny.

I was thinking of making a poster-sized picture of my face and putting in a big clear plastic frame with a dartboard painted on it.

And of course putting other family members' pictures behind mine so she could change them out as needed.

Oh. And to clarify, I never said, "When a sitter is hired, leave it alone."

That's just her new personal rule for dealing with me.

Tbh, I have a list of rules to deal with her as well.

I just keep them IN MY HEAD where they belong.

The newest rule is "keep your mouth shut around your mother".

I was so happy when I weighed the other day.

I finally managed to get back down the 150's--barely, but there.

Plus af started today so hopefully when that goes away, I'll see a significant difference.

I've been getting up EARLY every morning and walking with bouts of running.

Robin my current situation with my mom is not exactly similar but she has been acting soooooooo weird. (it's the whole reason I did not tell her yet and why I am waiting as long as possible)

*this turned into a really long vent sorry*

Apparently my moms new favorite thing is worrying about her kids, all 3 of us, and worrying about Travis. My sister told me it was bad and that she has been acting all kinds of crazy but I hadn't been over there in like a month so I didn't really understand until Saturday.

First of all you are meeting my boyfriend for the first time. We have been dating for MONTHS and finally you are meeting him and you barely say two words to him and behave like a crazed driver with a trucker mouth the whole 10 minute ride to the train station.SERIOUSLY?!?!

Then I listen to her all day about this and that, at one point she said "I am going to drop dead of a heart attack because of all the stress you kids cause me" Um no mom we are all doing better then EVER you are doing this to yourself. My sister looked at her and said "we are not going to just stop and do nothing while life goes around us. We are living and doing the best we can, we cannot do everything you want or expect us to do" My jaw dropped and it was then that I realized this had been going on for awhile.

Yeah she is totally crazy and convinced she did something terribly wrong when she raised us. Yet she knew I was gonna end up divorced and really was thrilled when I finally did it, knew my brother was miserable too and needed to make moves, and God knows what happened to my sister had nothing to do with her.

She may need a straight jacket and a padded room when I tell her I am pregnant LOL

Robin, I really can't believe your mother puts post-it up like that.

My mind is blown.

It's kind of funny but it's also terribly sad - nothing like forgive and forget. wow.

I am LMAO over it and shaking my head at the same time.  Her grandkids can read those notes.

I am intrigued and want to know what some of the other things say though

I saw your first post and was gonna ask you how you felt.

Right this minute is the first time in almost three days that I am not nauseous and I am sooooo tired. I really thought the vitamins would help my energy but I guess I was wrong.

I hope you start to feel better ASAP.
