Travis is a flipping grouch right now.  He has a huge class presentation tomorrow.  It is the last one before he writes his dissertation and defends.  As of Wednesday night, no more regular classes for him.

happy dance

those tiny bags of fruit snacks are my crack.

We have them out for study snacks because it is finals here.

I've had 5 of them.

In one sitting.

Moo.

I was tracking a package i ordered and it arrived at my local post office on the 30th. I still havent gotten it. How can it get lost at its last stop before here. That really makes me frustrated even though its only a 5 dollar package.

We are back from the doctor's pre op check up.  He went ahead and did the kindergarten check up with it.  She needs to go back and get her vacinations though because she can't have those right before surgery.

They had to draw a vial of blood.  I thought for sure she would be terrible.  I am so happy to be wrong.  She sat on my lap.  I talked to her and the poor girl has my very deep hard to get veins.  The guy (which I think was a student?) Jabbed her and then had to keep moving the needle around, up and down, in and out before he got the blood.  Elizabeth said ow a couple of times but other than that she sat there and cooperated.  There were not tears even!  I am so proud of my girl.  I hope she does as well on surgery day.

On the kindergarten front, we are back on the fence.  I took Elizabeth to kindergarten screening.  I was fully prepared to not send her this year.  Long story short, the school we are thinking about sending her to (it's a Catholic school here) has a speech teacher that knocked my socks off.  She assured me that Elizabeth would not be penalized for any motor delays and that they would really work with her.

The class size is really small, 14.  The other class is the same size and they do quite a bit of co teaching.  The school itself is small.  For us, that is a plus.  Besides doing well academically, the school offers lots of other extra curricular activities.

So now we are rethinking everything.  Tomorrow we have a conference with her preschool teachers about next year.  They think she should stay so we are going to ask them for exact reasons why.

Why is it that all these decisions make me feel like her entire life depends on what I choose?  No, I don't over think things much. lmao.gif

When it was looking like we might move when he became a finalist for the position, I decided to wait a month.  Stress throws off my ovulation big time, so I didn't want to sink $$ into an attempt only to find my ovulation is way way off.

Once we are settled wherever we are going (or staying) we will be trying.  So at latest, July.

Hi, projects for this summer are to get through it without selling Joe. Teenage attitude already! Hopefully he is getting it out of his system now.

Libby that is a really small class size! Elizabeth is going to love it.  I think you have to go with your instincts about these things, you know her best.

Hi, Sonya!

I'm okay today--a little sleepy.

Henry is on his way to school, and Mark is sleeping.

Mark has preschool this morning so I'll get a few hours to myself.

Unfortunately, my to-do list is way longer than a few hours.

How are you this morning?

So we had a shortage of male candidates last year, so my staff is super unbalanced.  6 females, one male.  Most of the time it is not an issue.

Times of high stress the cat claws come out, rumors begin, eye rolls appear frequently.

Love them.  Can't wait for them to go though.  I'm not a drama person, so I have zero tolerance for it.

SO this is a low stress week.  Move 400 students out by Saturday at 5 (when the last graduation begines at 2:30 on Saturday and always runs late.  Yeah, that doesn't really work well).  Travis's HUGE presentation today.  Travis's interview with the board of directors for the job tomorrow.  An expected decision on said job on Friday.  If offer doesn't come through, Travis traveling to Vermont for a different interview Sunday.  Oh, and I have a GINORMOUS billing report due by 10am on Monday morning- which I can't even get done until the residents leave.  Imagine the detail a lnadlord has to check an apartment with.  I have nearly 50.  Last year it was 18 pages printed of an excel file.

Yet I'm amazingly zen right now.  Pretty sure it is just delusional denial.  I'll take it though.

And not to put the cart before the horse, but if Travis lands this big job we will be in limbo for a month.  My contract expires 5/31 and I will only get a few extra days to move out, and his begins 7/1 and will only a few days to move in early.  Our stuff, i think, would need to go into storage.

Yup, just a stress free day around here.

Koda just totally Odie'd Tristen off the couch.  Remember Garfield and the quick kick of Odie off the table.  Yup, just recreated in all it's glory.

Koda is now indignant in time out wondering what the issue is.

what may have happened is that they scan the entire pallet of packages by one universal barcode, not each package individually. sooo...say your package was originally in that group of packages, but got lost somewhere along the way, when the final stop scanned that barcode it would still be assumed that your package was with the rest, although that may not be true. i only know that b/c that is what happened when i ordered coffee through amazon one time...it looked like it had arrived with the rest of that group, but in reality had been left behind at a stop along the way.

perfect example of what happens when a company lies to congress and says they need to cut back hours b/c of $$ issues that are not as bad as they would like everyone to believe. (sorry, disgruntled postal wife here;)
