mommy confessions:

the kids and I met my mom and older brother for dinner weekend before last.   My brother is a big guy.  kate is naturally nervous around people she doesn't see frequently so my brother was causing her a bit of anxiety but she wasn't flat out scared.

Well, ever since that dinner I use him as a scare tactic when she's not behaving - like in the car she tried to take her carseat strap off so I told her uncle Brian was behind us and asked her if I needed to pull over.  She quickly said no and put her arms back in the carseat.

Now I'm using it at bedtime b/c she will chatter non-stop.  I tell her we have to be quiet so uncle Brian doesn't have to come over.

I'm horrible.  But it works.

Robin, is the flooding affecting you? (effecting?)

No, not personally.

I have friends whose houses flooded, and Kimberly's dh's business is flooded.

holy crap that kids peaceful.  when he's asleep.

otherwise he's pretty much hell on wheels.  he torments his sister just to hear her scream.

i have a very clear picture now of why girls with brothers are the way they are.

I have two brothers.

I'm sure they loved torturing me just like Jake loves torturing kate.  I can feel it in my bones every time he steals her doll just to hear her scream.

One kid in bed, one to go.

I just got home from Zumba.

I don't know why--same teacher, same routine--but I am disgustingly hot, sweaty, and tired.

Maybe it's because it's 90 degrees outside. . .

Adorable, Kris!

That is the coolest "Lovey-Car" snuggie.

Mark would super-love it.

Or one with a Transformer on it.

Or Spiderman.

Or any superhero.

I am SERIOUSLY considering getting Netflix JUST BECAUSE I am dying, dying, dying to see Season 5 of Criminal Minds.

It seems the reruns (that are on every channel at all hours of the day) only go through Season 3.

Don't tell Glen that's why I want it.

K?

Thanks.

DYK how thrilled I am to be done with Henry's 4th grade teacher in 3 weeks?

This week is Teacher Appreciation Week, and I am having a hard time appreciating her.

Because I really, really don't.

I still sent her some supplies for School Supply Day.

And tomorrow is . . . um . . .

Guess I'll look at my "sent" emails and see.

Okay, tomorrow is Book for the Classroom Day.

I've got TONS of books.

Easy one.

Wednesday is Flower Day.

As Room Mom, I'm supposed to supply the vase.

I found one at the Dollar Store the other day so I need to send that tomorrow as well.

Y'all remind me.

How are the kids doing in one room, Corey?

awesome! i am actually really surprised at how well they seem to have adjusted. the only drawback is that they have been waking up at 7am vs 8:30-9. im not sure why that is happening, but i hope it reverses very soon!

Dumb question of the day:

What is "FML"?

I keep seeing it on people's facebook statuses.

Free Mad Lions

For My Laughing

Know what?

I think I just figured it out while making up stuff.

Yep, pretty sure I got it although I can't imagine some of the people using it would say that.

Hmmmmmm.

Is it Eff my Luck??

I found a super-good coupon at the store the other day for $1 off produce when you buy 2 Kraft dressings, then there was a coupon in the Sunday paper for X off of one Kraft dressing.

I REALLY want another one of those coupons but I don't get the paper; my mom just gives me hers.

Maybe I'll ask my local FB friends if I can have theirs.

That's good they're doing well.

Mark has tried to have a sleepover in Henry's room before, and he's tried to sleep on the futon in the living room.

He never can sleep and always ends up back in his own bed.

lmao.

I'd die for a 7 am wake up.

I'd pay them money to sleep until 8. Lots and lots of money!!!

i'm feeling super smart right now.

i bought a pint of ben & jerry's phish food that i really did not want to share. luckily for me i have a sore throat so i decided the best way to prevent anyone else from taking any was eating it straight from the container. im guessing dave won't risk getting my germs just for some icecream.
