Good morning!

Sorry I've been so MIA. Work is crazy (but great).

What's up this weekend?

GM!

We went to the circus last night.

Tristen lasted exactly one minute.  Between the dark, all the kids with light sticks, and the loud music- little dude flipped out.  I spent the next two hours watching a movie with him in the van while Koda and Travis watched the circus.  Awesome, lol.

This weekend I have a million and one things I want to get done including swtiching out some of the boys winter clothes, moving their dresser, and purging a lot of clutter...but I'm trying to see if I can even get my unmotivated butt to the grocery for some very needed food.

I'm trying desperately to get the house clean. I'm forcing mike out of the house with the kids because they are going behind me as fast as I clean.

It's desperate.

Traveling is hard on my house cleaning.

Hello!

Henry's friend Chad spent the night last night so everyone went to bed way too late.

Then we had LOUD thunderstorms most of the night so I didn't sleep well.

Chad had to be home by 8 this morning so the big boys got up a little early.

We're all tired.

I'm wanting to go check out Aldi's sometime today; I've never been there.

But the weather is still pretty nasty so I may save that for another day.

I think they're closed on Sundays.

Henry's school was having their 3rd annual garage sale this morning.

It's always in the cafeteria, but it was STORMING all morning so they had a lousy turnout (so far).

My mom and I took the boys to it but it was really horrible this year.

I think they under-advertised for people bring stuff and under-advertised for the actual event so there was hardly anyone there.

The teachers/staff manning the sale applauded when we arrived; that's how dead it was.

Then there was just some random junk on the tables--old baskets, Christmas decorations, junky old toys.

We looked HARD to find something to buy.

Mark found a puzzle.

Hello?

Hello?

Y'all know I don't mind talking to myself.

I did go to Aldi's when there was a lull in the storm, but once I got there, I realized that I didn't have any cash.

I didn't know if they took anything else so I just walked around and wrote down prices on my price list.

Then on my way out, I asked what forms of payment they take--cash, debit, or food stamps.

Millington, another suburb of Memphis, that isn't too far from where I live, is COMPLETELY flooded.

It's been storming around here since last night, and some levy broke so most of Millington is under water.

Kimberly's dh owns a funeral home in Millington.

She called me a while ago to tell me that his funeral home was completely flooded.

He went inside, and the water was up to his chest INSIDE.

She said they don't have flood insurance.

Blah.

Glen took the boys to his parents' house this afternoon.

My goals were to:

-completely clean the kitchen
-do all the laundry

Robin, we bought most of our staple foods at Aldis when we were in Ohio.  I so wish we had them here.  I was always happy with the quality of their brand, and the prices were really good for the things we bought.

Good morning!

Lazy morning here!

We're waiting for friends to call so we can go meet them for a walk or something. I just paid bills and am now sitting here, showered but in my bathrobe, waiting for energy to get moving.

It isn't happening.

It "stormed" all night again last night.

Actually it didn't even rain RIGHT HERE but in all the surrounding counties plus there were tornado watches and warnings through the whole night.

The sirens were sounding.

We're home from church.

Do you think my family would let me take a nap?

I didn't think so, either.

Steve and I have been sick this weekend. I was up late last night from sleeping so much yesterday. Thank the Lord, Andrew doesn't have this. He's at the neighbors' house playing with their 4 y.o. nephew. His K assesment is Tues. Really hoping he's not sick for that.

I should be cleaning. Steve is sleeping, he has to work tonight. I just popped on to do some banking. Been working on the budget for May. I am trying to figure out how to turn $700 into $1500. Don't see how that's gonna happen. Really, Really hoping that our tax refund shows up soon!

Feel better!

I hope Andrew doesn't get it.

My mouth is on fire.

I DESPISE spicy food, and Glen brought home some bbq from an unfamiliar-to-me place.

I had one bbq sandwich and some slaw which were both really tasty.

So I decided to finish the remaining meat on another sandwich, but Mark had finished up that container of sauce so I opened the other container.

Apparently it was not the same sauce.

Ouch, ouch, ouch.

At least now I'm not going to consume the extra food; should be good for my weigh-in.

I need to turn in the forms for the kids' "camp" weeks at Henry's school this summer.

Henry is going to Art Camp, and Mark is going to Kindergarten Camp.

I super-love the idea of K Camp.

This summer is the first time they'll have it, and Miss Teacher--[remember her? Henry's super-amazing, no-one-could-ever-measure-up-to-her, we love her more than anything Kindergarten teacher]--is the teacher of it along with Mrs. B--, who is also a really sweet K teacher.

Both camps are the same week from 8:30 to 11:30. Maybe I can coordinate a breakfast or brunch date with somebody.

Wanna hear my "duh" moment from yesterday?

After I went to Aldi's to check out their prices, I went by Walmart Neighborhood Market because we really needed milk and eggs plus I wanted a candy bar.

I was pleasantly surprised to see the parking lot was mostly empty but then I saw the employee standing outside with a sign "Power Out. Sorry."

So I went to Kroger.

Kroger was PACKED, and I mentioned to the cashier that they were really busy for some reason.

She said, "Well, Walmart's power is out."

/end of my "duh" moment
