I baked a pillsbury crust for my strawberry pie and I am very unhappy with it. Those things shrink and they just don't seem to be big enough!

I think I'll scrap that for the strawberry pie and make a homemade crust. I am not real good with the homemade crusts, but I'll give it a whirl.

I should make the kids some lunch. And I should get something for myself as well, and prep dinner stuff so I don't have to later.

We are having this casserole because I had everything I needed for it, and some of the things need to be used up. So it is this crescent casserole-ground beef and onions mix with pasta sauce (we have some leftover in the fridge that I need to use, and a package of ground beef from my ILs that is getting old) make the bottom layer, then you mix mozz and sour cream to put on top of that, then you roll out a thing of crescents into a single sheet, which I have a few rolls of, top it and bake. IHNI if it will be any good or not, but since we have everything, I figured we would try it. And it is supa easy and should be in the oven very quick.

we did our taxes the first day allowed. We always look forward to our refund. I think this year dh is changing his withholdings though so we can invest it from the beginning of the year. Im not sure though.

What day is that?  IHNI there was a first day you were allowed to do them!!  We always focus on the LAST day you have to do them, lmao.

Ours were pretty easy this year though.  We had no capital transactions, so that simplified things. My broker hasn't been doing much with my account, actually.  We should talk with him and see where we are and where we are headed-I mean, I don't want him to be buying and selling just so he can turn a profit, but we want to do some smart investing too and make our money work for us for the future.

I think I'll make Bill do that.  Investing is not something I am terribly interested in, and those two like to talk shop about aeronautics and junk anyway.

Ok, now I really do need to go back lunch. It is officially lunch time. I don't think i will even ask what they want today-I'll just decide since they are quiet up there.

my kids are super cranky today. I think Scott will be going down for a nap VERY soon.

I have to go get milk today but do NOT want to go out.

And we have therapy at 3.

Scott is starting to have a green snotty nose and the banquet for dh is this weekend.
If I cant go after I bought a dress I will be upset.

yeah DH starting painting our upstairs bathroom yesterday. Its going to look so nice and clean. (The paint was so nasty from the previous owners.)

I chose almost the same color that was already in there just a little lighter. It is "Herbal Mist." almost a seafoam green color to match the tiles that are in there. I have also bought new mats, bath assesories to match.

I love having a house I can do what ever I want to it.

Hopefully scott doesn't get sick. I would be upset after taking the time to find a dress and all then have to stay home with a sick kiddo.

it's nice to not owe BUT it's b/c our income is down so much that we dont' owe

dual edged sword I guess

we did get some money back this year and that is being used to pay off medical bills for Cole who was up all night puking and shitting his guts up

Our taxes are done. We are usually done in February, but only got them done last week this year. Crazy late for us, but whatever, at least they are done. Our refund is supposed to be coming in this weekend, and it's spent before it's here. (In my head, anyways.) Shiz, I think Joe forgot to send our city forms in, so I better do that today. Oy.

OH NO!!!!!  I am so sorry, D.  Poor Cole, and poor you!!!  That is awful.  I hope he is better soon.

And boo on the lower income. You are right, definite double edged sword.  I guess it is good you are getting a refund this year to help out a little.

I got all our tax stuff together and got it mailed to the CPA the beginning of March. We got a letter back saying that it was the busy time of year for him and he filed an extention for us and thinks he'll have them done and filed by the middle of May. I was so disapointed. Usually he has to file an extention for us because we don't get him all the info until long past April...Getting Steve to get me his info is like pulling teeth with a feather. I do all the house stuff, medical, but he has to keep track of his milage, work trips, money spent for work equipment...

Last year I really started cracking down on our budget. His income is down so much with no OT. Part of that helped Steve keep track of what he was spending and that made it easier to get all the tax info from him this year. I thought we were doing so good getting it together in March. Last year we were late and got stuck in the "Ca has no money, so you get a warrent" crapola that was a pain. I don't want to deal with that again.

I wanted to just file our stuff online without the CPA, but with Steve's job, he's got a CPA that specializes in cops, so he knows every little thing that you can deduct. That makes it helpful.
