Braydon had his first ortho appointment today.  I brought him in because while he's lost three teeth on top, there was only room for two to come in.  Thus, he gets an expander to give him room and fix his cross bite.  They'll also put braces on the front 6 upper teeth to keep things in place and help move things to where they should be.  This should take 8-12 months, and then he'll get a retainer until it's time for braces.

I guess I was just wondering who has orthodontic experience?  I did.  Expander, many extractions, and braces.

This first phase will be $1600.  Is that too much?  The going rate? Just wondering!

I am surprised they are already putting braces on him.

How many teeth has he lost?

Bryce just lost tooth #5 Wednesday night. He has lost his two bottom middle and now his two top middle and one to the right of his top tooth. I do not think it looks like he has a enough room but had not even thought to take him to an orthodontist just yet for that.

Wondering if I should now...

Braydon has lost 6 teeth and two more are loose. The orthodontist said he recommends bringing kids in at age 7 for an evaluation. It's usually free.

Kelly, They're putting braces on 6 of the top teeth to aid the expander in the making of space to allow for his teeth to come in naturally.

To prevent stephen from having vampire teeth like me we had some of his baby teeth removed to give the permanent ones space. He was being seen by a pediatric orthodontist for all his dental work so she also evaluated him around 8 or 9 years old and said he needed pre-braces and then regular braces. We didn't do any othro work and his is 15 and his teeth are almost perfect.
