Well my clutter catcher is apparently my entire house. Actually my entryway seems to be where everything is dropped and left to rot. I am forever cleaning it up. I have also learned that any flat surface in this house has a clutter magnet on it. I am working on getting rid of things slowly but surely. I have this fantasy that when I get rid of things the clutter will go away. I am just going to ignore the part where most of the clutter are things my family members use and just leave laying.
I was up late watching Hoarders last night. I have an "office" that will be the baby's room, and it is full. Gifts that I bought and never gave, old baby stuff from Andrew, junk, decorations.... The kitchen table is full of crud right. I have to clean it off so we can eat dinner on it today. The last few nights we had dinner in front of the TV. The counters are getting better, I've been working on those...
I don't know if it's the pregnancy or if it's that's how long I've been watching Hoarders, but I have been trying to purge our house the last few months. I'm a hoarder. My dad is, my grandma was. I have those tendnancies, and have to put a stop to it now.
I cleaned out my whole closet last month. Got rid of prolly 8-9 bags of clothes, 20-30 pairs of shoes... I had clothes from High School in there. And they were uniforms at that! I'm 37. I no longer fit in those things. Haven't worn them in years... Move on, toss it. I wear jeans and t-shirts every day. I wear 2 different shoes, hiking boots or tennies. Before I had Andrew I had all these cute, pointy, healed shoes. Now, my foot has grown half a size, I've had very bad ankle and knee problems. I can't wear those shoes. So off to Goodwill. DH got mad, saying I should be cleaning something else... I just needed a small space that I could get great and move on.
Gosh I sound so bad... Oh well. I'm admitting it and I'm working on getting organized.
I'm off to get ready to go to the Dr. Can't believe it's Thursday already. One more week down. U/S today. There has been pain, but no cramping this week, so that's good. Aug 8th sounds so freakn' far away...
Unfortunately, our bedroom. It is the only room the boys are not allowed into, so it is: bedroom, gift closet, Travis's office, and storage for all medications, etc. It also houses a huge bookcase for our books so the kids don't rip them, etc. It is so stuffed that we can't even open the closet door fully because our bed (king) is too big for the room.
It is an episode of hoarders waiting to happen, but really, we don't have a choice in our current space.
I don't know why but it will seem very odd to me when you no longer live on campus!
I'm sure it will feel like you've exhaled for the first time when you finally get a place to spread out!
Lol, the new job (if he gets it) requires living on at least one year than negotiable after. At least it is half a house though :) But...still on a campus.
I am happy to report that since I have moved I don't really have any clutter or catch-all spaces. I have a lot of stuff in my living room closet but it's because I do not have a bedroom so my clothes are in there as well as all my craft/bow/sewing stuff. My house is surprise visit clean at all times. (turns out it was 5, Travis & Beans that made my house disgusting LOL)
i'm taking caroline to equine therapy this morning & then this afternoon i'm taking jake to the orthodontist. he's thisclose to getting his braces off.
i can't wait to see him with a nice, white, braces-free smile. i know i'm biased but he is so handsome.
sara, i've looked into equine therapy for em, but haven't pulled the trigger yet.
can you give me some more info, especially your opinion of it?
I'm researching bunk beds online. My inlaws have a set that they have offered, but there isn't the wooden slabs that make sure kids don't fall out (they were Travis's dads...so yeah, I'm not trusting the safety).
I found a set at walmart.com that are very inexpensive, but come with surprisingly good reviews.
Ugh, choices.
For under $250, it might be worth the gamble. The ones at the local furniture shops are crazy expensive.
I read everything, but now I forget what i wanted to say to everyone-I stink. My mind is hard to focus right now!!
My bedroom is a catchall-as is the basement. OMG the basement. It is a disaster. And our dining room table is hard to keep clear, which I HATE. I try so hard, but it just doesn't seem to happen!!!
I love egg salad. I should make some-or some deviled eggs. I love those too. We have just been using our easter eggs in salads, but there are a lot of them, and we are only using one a day-I might need to do something else in addition.
And Jenn, I am hoping the job stuff works out-you must be dying waiting to find out about all of this!!
We had a very busy morning. I just realized last night that I didn't have Anna's actual birth certificate, so we had to go down to the Health Department and get that. Thankfully, it was very easy and we were in and out in 10 minutes. It cost $20 though, so $40 later (I figured I might as well get Kate's too), we have a piece of paper that I think they should have given us anyway.
Then we went to Target. I scored some good deals there!! I had ordered coupons for $4/1 Intuition or Quattro razors (I use the Intuition-well, I use both, but have mostly switched over to the Intuition), and Target has them on sale this week for $6.99-not for the refills, just the razors, but they come with 2 blades and I plan to recycle them and not just throw them away-and if you buy 2, you get a $5 gift card. They only had 8 left, but I bought all 8 of those, paid $2.99 for each of them, and when you factor in the gift cards as well, they ended up being $.49 each!! We went to another target as well, but they were completely out. Kate and I will hit up the Annapolis Target tomorrow and see if I can find a few more. I also got some Pantene products with coupons I had-they had things on sale for $2.99 and I had $3/2 coupons, so they ended up being $1.49/each, which is a good price on those.
Then we went to SuperFresh for hair color-I had coupons for those too, $3/1. They were on sale for $5.99/each, so with the coupon they were $2.99, and if you bought $40 of P&G products, which they are, you got a $10 cat-I had already done it once at my other SuperFresh, so I did it again today, rolled the cat and got the hair color for next to nothing-it was great!!!! (I never have to buy hair color again, lol-I use the wash out kind though, so I use it like every 4-5 weeks)
The girls held it together pretty well-but they are not big errand runners.
I took the girls to McDs for lunch since they stuck with me through all my errand running. They were thrilled. I just had to make sure we all used the potty FIRST. I HATE when we sit down with our food and then someone has to go.
I mean, you don't want to leave the food sitting there, but you can't very well take it with you!
I am tapering off the prednisone, and it sucks. And I have had some gas pains the past few days that worry me-but it might be that I have been doing too much and letting myself get a little stressed.
We are supposed to get rain here tonight and then it is supposed to cool off. Thank GOD. It has been record breakingly hot here and I am NOT ready. I need spring, not summer.
And we had to turn the a/c on because our house has such bad cross ventilation.
I also like Robin and hoping it will wash away the pollen, which is BRUTAL.
Robin, that is crazy about your mom's neighbor's house!!

I need to chill out.
your gas pains are probably related to the boiled eggs you've been eating
laura, speaking of potty first, last week i took the kids to mcd's for dinner when matt was working late. i didn't realize that one of the schools was doing a fundraiser there, so it was PACKED.
we get outside with our food and jake says "i have to go potty!" so we ran back inside. when we came back out, another little girl was standing there eating jake's nuggets. lmfao. her mom was MORTIFIED. she ran back in to buy him another pack, but the line was SO long it took like 15 minutes.

we've had the a/c on for a while, but we got rain and a cold front last night and i had to turn the heater back on today, lol
My SIL and BIL had one of those outside houses-the plastic little tikes type? Anyway, their kids don't use it, so she asked if we wanted it. I said sure and my girls are in LOVE with it!!!! They want to play outside all.the.time. since we out it together.
It is faded, but that actually makes me happy, lol. And it was free!!
