Travis's big interview in Wednesday, I am a nervous wreck but trying to not show it for his sake.  This would be a great position for him, and it looks somewhat promising.  My nervousness comes because if he gets it we will need to pack up and move in just 2 short months.  Breathe.  Breathe.  Breathe.  Trying not to get ahead of myself.

Am I thinking good thoughts or not? ;)

Where would this job be?

Good thoughts please :)  It is an hour north of here, but not quite as north as the last one he applied to.  This one is associate headmaster of a private academy instead of executive director which is more in line with where he is in the career track, so it looks promising.  Property is pretty inexpensive in the area, so I think we could get several acres which would be our dream :)  It is the turn aorund that has me stressed- and I have no freaking clue how to buy a house, but we'll cross that bridge if he actually gets a reasonable offer.

I hope it all works out exceedingly well for you.  I know the turn around is fast, but just think of it this way.  If it does work out, you won't have time to rethink everything and you will have enjoyed better the time you have spent.  As for buying a house, it's exciting and there are lots of people on here that can give you some pointers on it.  Keep us updated!

GM Easter went well. Scott only liked his nerf ball and Raym only liked his matchbox cars. K liked everything but no surprise there.

Hope it works out!  My BF in college's Dad is the Headmaster of a country day boys' school in MA.  He started out in New Hampshire.  That whole life and way of education is so intriguing to me.  Could be a fabulous education for your boys!

Easter was tons of fun! Unbelievable weather!!!

The kids got up early and I could hear them downstairs trying to be quiet while pointing out the hidden eggs to each other. They waited until 7 to come and get us. Braydon, "There is something very surprising downstairs." I think we hid their Easter baskets last year, so I guess it was a surprise to have them waiting on the coffee table. They went on an egg hunt in the house. It didn't take long. Carter was a riot. "Up!" while pointing to one he couldn't reach. "More, more, more" with squeals of delight as he'd find an egg. Their baskets had some candy, bubbles and a kite. The big kids got new tennies too.

Then we got dressed up and went to church followed by brunch with my Dad's family at my Aunt and Uncles house. There was an outdoor egg hunt there. The kids each had like 30 eggs to find. Then my cousins entertained the kids all afternoon so we got to sit around the still closed pool and chat with everyone all afternoon. Lovely!!

I'm pretty sure Carter ate his weight in candy. Kaylin fell asleep on her bedroom floor as soon as we got home. The boys played with bubbles for a solid hour.

Overall a highly enjoyable day!

Tonight Braydon has his first full ice hockey game. Should be interesting. He's so excited!!

Gm ladies

looks like lots of us got awesome Easter weather

we had an awesome weekend. this is the first weekend i haven't worked in over 6 weeks, so i enjoyed all my family time but am totally wiped out from so much play

we hung out at my IL's club pool on saturday and all got sun burnt (ooops)

then sunday my BFF and her DH came over for brunch and we hid eggs

cole was unimpressed with his easter basket and kept telling me he didn't *neeeeed* new toy story combo packs b/c he already haaaaaas toy story on DVD ( :eyeroll: )

jack liked his bouncy ball and candy, so that was all good

this week back to real life, making a counter-offer on a job offer i got last week...and then going from there

sonya,

it was not a stellar offer

at this point i'm resigned to needing to take a step back to go forward

it's just hard b/c their benefit costs are killer, and with cole being what/who he is, i know that benefit cost is really going to hurt us

and we barely make it as it is with marc's sales being down

that being said, i step back to get where i want to be is a sacrifice i have come to terms with

that sucks.

switching jobs is tough, especially if you don't make get the big bucks you want.

I just got a tiny (teeny) bit more salary but the job satisfaction makes up for lack of money. I'm so happy I took it.

Was tempted to put htis as my status, but thought I'd get my hand slapped if my boss caught wind.  So, I'll share it here.

Walking through the first year complex, I just saw all the flowers blooming.  Good!  Also just saw all the first year women trying to squeeze into last summers clothes after a long winter of high caloric binge drinking and cafeteria food.  Bad.  Bad-bad-bad-bad-bad.

Honestly, they are beautiful 19-20 year olds.  Really.  They just need to accept 1-2 sizes up.

funniest headline I just read:

It's that time of the month.  The IPad is on sale!

My goodness, they could have picked a better name :)

i'm hoping to get a signing bonus at the new gig and to get marc one

he'll need it as my flexibility at work could completely fall out and he'll be on the hook 5 days a week with the boys

shoot me now.

someone I used to supervise at a previous college is a finalist for a position here.

shoot me now.

how do I delicately state on an interview evaluation that he is a pompous ass who thinks he is far more essential than he really is, is slimier that a used car dealer, and takes criticism as well as my four year old?

ugh.

I hope Travis gets this new job.  I can't work with this dude.  Worse yet, he would be at my peer level.

grumble.

lol - too much junk food. we're all fine today.

i never worry about what my kids are eating on holidays so as a result they eat way more crap than they ever would on a normal day (or week!)
